About Audrey

16 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Hello, my name is Audrey. I am a 24 year old student at Joliet Junior College saving money to enroll in their Vet Tech program. My goals involve making a career working with and caring for animals, first by becoming a Veterinary Technician along with certifying myself as a Dog Trainer and Groomer. I also intend to become a Horse Trainer and Instructor, then eventually a Veterinarian with my own rescue establishment. To put it simply, I have a deep love for animals and can't see myself living without them, so what better way to share my love than to care for your pets in the comfort of their own home?

I started pet sitting in the summer of '07, though I have cared for many pets throughout my life, both close friends' and my own. Currently I have a cat, Luna, and four dogs: Max (Shih Tzu), Sasha (German Shepherd), Blue (Weimaraner), and Cofi (Rottweiler).

I worked at Barkin' Boutique, a pet grooming salon where I bathed dogs and cats while tending to their needs. I also volunteered for the Romeoville Humane Society, caring for their kenneled cats consistently, and at Lockport Animal Hospital, shadowing the technicians and assisted them caring for ill animals. In the summer, I aid the ranch hands at Windy City Arabians, handling horses and supervising lessons with young riders.

Before booking, I would like to know how many dogs (along with any other pets) would be under my care and if there are any training procedures or limitations I should be aware of and enforce. For example, what specific words and hand signals do you use for commands? Do you prefer I avoid letting them jump or lick when they greet people? Are they allowed on furniture? It is your house, so your rules shall be applied to provide consistency for your pets.

I would also like to be informed about any special needs your dog might have, such as medications or possible behavioral concerns (food aggressions, separation anxiety, temperament with other animals or strangers, etc.). Anything of the sort, please express it so I am aware and more understanding of their needs.

I am completely against breed discrimination, so I have absolutely no breed preferences!

At your home, I cater to the dogs' needs that you prefer I do so to the best of my ability. I will spend time with your pup to serve meals, go outside, have some playtime, and tend to any special requirements routinely throughout the day. I can also stay overnight for plenty of quality and cuddle time so they never feel alone. This way they have a routine established in the comfort of their home, and my schedule with school, work, and other responsibilities is not affected. Services also include any household tasks that need to be handled while you're away, such as bringing in mail or watering plants. Any additional small or exotic pets (birds, rodents, fish, reptiles, etc.) will also be cared for during my stay FREE of charge, some exceptions apply.

HOME VISITS - Only Weekends Indefinitely -
While you're away from home, I can stop by for at least half an hour and quickly tend to your pup's needs. This can include serving a meal, letting them outside to potty, administering routine medication, or just spending some quality time!

DOG WALKING - Only Weekends Indefinitely -
Whether you're away or at home too busy to find time, I can come by to walk your pups around the neighborhood for at least half an hour. From a quiet stroll to a fast-paced exercise, I can do whatever your pup needs to feel great and relaxed at home afterward.

DOG TRAINING - For Repeat Clients Only -
Having trouble teaching your pup a trick or two? I offer positive dog training that covers anything from basic commands (sit, down, stay, come, leave it, etc.) to neat little tricks (paw shake, rollover, speak, fetch, on/off), along with but not limited to crate training, leash walking, enjoying car rides, and socializing. Whatever you feel you need help working on to make your dog the best dog, I'm up for the challenge!

As an add-on or separate service for your furry friends, I offer bathing services that include a nail trim, ear cleaning, teeth cleaning, and a thorough brush out. From an oatmeal cleanse to a Deshedding bath, I have a variety of shampoos to choose from that best fit your pet's needs to feel clean and fresh! *Price may change depending on size and hair of pet.

Wonderful! Great! Definitely will book her again!
Audrey was wonderful!! We have 3 dogs. We were feeling very anxious about leaving our youngest since she is timid and fearful of strangers. Audrey came for a meet and greet and it went great. She offered to come a couple days later while we were at work to see how the dogs would respond to her when they are home alone. The dogs did great with her and we felt confident in leaving the dogs with Audrey. While we were gone she sent updates and photos. She took excellent care of our 3 dogs and our timid fearful girl was cuddling up to Audrey after a day! We felt so relaxed and confident that we extended our trip 2 days. Audrey was available and very accommodating to our extended trip. When we came home the house was as we left it. She took great care of the dogs and the house. She brought our mail in for us. She left cute polaroids of each dog for us on the table. We were very happy and plan to book her again soon!
Audrey was on time and sent me some photos - which I really appreciated!
