About Audrey

16 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Hello, my name is Audrey. I am a student at Joliet Junior College looking to get into their Vet Tech program. My goals involve making a career working with and caring for animals, first by becoming a Veterinary Technician along with certifying myself as a Dog Trainer and Groomer. I also intend to become a Horse Trainer and Instructor, then eventually a Veterinarian with my own rescue establishment. To put it simply, I have a deep love for animals and can't see myself living without them, so what better way to share my love than to care for your pets in the comfort of their own home?

I started pet sitting in the summer of '07, though I have cared for many pets throughout my life, both close friends' and my own. Currently I have a cat, Luna, and four dogs: Max (Shih Tzu), Sasha (German Shepherd), Blue (Weimaraner), and Cofi (Rottweiler).

I worked at Barkin' Boutique, a pet grooming salon where I bathed dogs and cats while tending to their needs. I also volunteered for the Romeoville Humane Society, caring for their kenneled cats consistently, and at Lockport Animal Hospital, shadowing the technicians and assisted them caring for ill animals. In the summer, I aid the ranch hands at Windy City Arabians, handling horses and supervising lessons with young riders.

Before booking, I would like to know how many dogs (along with any other pets) would be under my care and if there are any training procedures or limitations I should be aware of and enforce. For example, what specific words and hand signals do you use for commands? Do you prefer I avoid letting them jump or lick when they greet people? Are they allowed on furniture? It is your house, so your rules shall be applied to provide consistency for your pets.

I would also like to be informed about any special needs your dog might have, such as medications or possible behavioral concerns (food aggressions, separation anxiety, temperament with other animals or strangers, etc.). Anything of the sort, please express it so I am aware and more understanding of their needs.

I am completely against breed discrimination, so I have absolutely no breed preferences!

HOUSE SITTING
At your home, I cater to the dogs' needs that you prefer I do so to the best of my ability. I will spend time with your pup to serve meals, go outside, have some playtime, and tend to any special requirements routinely throughout the day. I can also stay overnight for plenty of quality and cuddle time so they never feel alone. This way they have a routine established in the comfort of their home, and my schedule with school, work, and other responsibilities is not affected. Services also include any household tasks that need to be handled while you're away, such as bringing in mail or watering plants. Any additional small or exotic pets (birds, rodents, fish, reptiles, etc.) will also be cared for during my stay FREE of charge, some exceptions apply.

HOME VISITS
While you're away from home, I can stop by for at least half an hour and quickly tend to your pup's needs. This can include serving a meal, letting them outside to potty, administering routine medication, or just spending some quality time!

DOG WALKING
Whether you're away or at home too busy to find time, I can come by to walk your pups around the neighborhood for at least half an hour. From a quiet stroll to a fast-paced exercise, I can do whatever your pup needs to feel great and relaxed at home afterward.

DOG TRAINING
Having trouble teaching your pup a trick or two? I offer positive dog training that covers anything from basic commands (sit, down, stay, come, leave it, etc.) to neat little tricks (paw shake, rollover, speak, fetch, on/off), along with but not limited to crate training, leash walking, enjoying car rides, and socializing. Whatever you feel you need help working on to make your dog the best dog, I'm up for the challenge!

BATHING
As an add-on or separate service for your furry friends, I offer bathing services that include a nail trim, ear cleaning, teeth cleaning, and a thorough brush out. From an oatmeal cleanse to a Deshedding bath, I have a variety of shampoos to choose from that best fit your pet's needs to feel clean and fresh! *Price may change depending on size and hair of pet.

PET TAXI - Currently Unavailable -
For the days you find yourself too busy or unable to take your pet places, I offer pet taxi service for all animals!

Audry is a very patient and calm sitter. She is perfect for my two rescued pups that need someone that understands they are not perfect and just need to be understood. She has a knack for seeing what they need from her to be comfortable.
Audrey recently watched our two dogs and did a great job. She stayed at our home and the dogs loved her. We would recommend Audrey without hesitation. We like her so much we are booking her for next year.
This was our 2nd time having Audrey over to watch the dogs. She did a great job and sent lots of pictures! Audrey was able to be flexible on our time coming home; we were delayed and knew it was a possibility that it would happen so discussed it ahead but appreciate her ability to stay a bit longer. Dogs looked very happy in all the pics and all was great when we got home. So nice to be able to leave the dogs at home and have them well-taken care of!

Audry is very good at reading dogs personalities and naturally calming. We have a neurotic pup that needs someone to make him comfortable, and she did!
This was the first time I had left Sky with anyone and Audrey was great. Actually, I really liked Audrey as soon as I met her at our meet and greet. Audrey stayed at my home, which was much more comfortable for Sky. She sent several pics and updates, which I really appreciated and I could see Sky was fine and having a good time! I don't think Sky even missed me!! I feel so fortunate and happy to have found someone so caring to take care of Sky. I will definitely ask Audrey to stay again.

Our canine children had been puppy mill breeder dogs for at least 6 years before they rescued us. Due to their backgrounds, they have some sensitivities that Audrey was very willing to work with. We would definitely recommend her to others and want to continue with her for future needs.

Audrey was great with my dogs. You can tell she really has a love for animals. I always get nervous leaving my dogs with new people but I felt so comfortable with her. Loved that she sent me a video of my dogs when she took care of them. I will be using her all the time.

Audrey took great care of both our dogs and I came home to two extremely happy pups that didn't seem anxious at all. I'd definitely use her again.
Audrey was great, you can tell she is an animal person and the dogs seemed genuinely happy with her here. She actually stayed at the house with the dogs - no issues there. We didn't mind her going to her 'day' job as long as the dogs weren't left any more than 5-6 hours, and it seemed there were no accidents in the house while she was here. Audrey sent us pics and updates every day, which was much appreciated. We will definitely use her again.

Audrey Was amazing! Responsible! Cared and loved our petting zoo! She did a very nice job with House-sitting and Dog Care! We Highly recommend her!!
We hired Audrey to stay at our home and watch our dog while we were away on vacation. She did a terrific job and kept us posted on how he was doing throughout the week by sending us short texts and pictures. It was very comforting knowing he was been well taken care of while we were away. When we arrived home, Audrey had left our house neat and clean. Audrey was very professional to work with and asked lots of good questions during the initial 'meet and greet'. I am very happy we found Audrey on DogVacay and I look forward to hiring her again.

Audrey was very kind and played with the cats. She even brought in my mail and the trash cans! We will get together so I can demonstrate how I do specific activities such as sweeping the floor and scooping out the very large litter boxes.
I will definitely ask her back and we already have another Vacay scheduled. Very much appreciate her willingness to undertake the assignment.

Audrey met all my needs as an over-protective puppy parent. She sent multiple pictures and videos at each visit. She responded to each text in a timely manner. When I returned I could tell my pup was tended to; I don't even think she missed me! I will continue to use Audrey for all my future trips.
