Hi there! My name is Andi and my husband, Phil, and I would be thrilled to take care of your pet for you.
UPDATE: We recently moved to Ivy City! (But will do everything we can to maintain clients in our old 'hood.)
With the abundance of pups in the District, it wasn't long before I began dog and cat sitting for my apartment neighbors back in 2012. I also previously worked at a veterinary clinic as an animal care specialist for the dogs and cats boarding there. I have currently been watching dogs with DogVacay for almost 3 years (since Summer '14). While I am the primary caretaker, my husband loves dogs as well and joins me on several walks. Between the two of us, we can pretty much provide 24 hour care.
I love both dogs and cats and my apartment complex has an expansive rooftop dog park - a big plus if you have a social canine! The National Arboretum is also just steps away if your pet prefers longer, more peaceful walks outside.
I have provided overnight care in clients' homes on several occasions (especially cat owners) as I have the luxury of working remotely! This also means your pet will always have 24-hour supervision. :)
Some nearby perks in my neighborhood (all within walking distance):
-Petco is a block away!
-Lots of fun neighbor dogs if your dog likes to play!
**NOTE** I typically do not watch more than two dogs in my home, as I prefer that your pet get as much undivided attention as possible. However, if you own three dogs that are well-acquainted with each other, I'd be happy to make an exception.
In addtion, my listing states that I do not host pit bull terriers. This is a case-by-case basis. My apartment complex has a vast number of dog owners and in my experience, many pit mixes can be extremely aggressive towards other dogs. If your pit is well-trained and likes other dogs, I would be more than happy to meet him or her!
We look forward to meeting you and your pup or kitty!
