About Laurel

13 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
About Me:

Hello! My name is Laurel Anne. I have been around animals all of my life. I have had a black lab-german shepherd mix, 2 parakeets, a chinchilla, a hamster, a guinea pig and a small lizard, just to name a few. I currently have a toy poodle and a cat at home. I can pet sit for any of these types of animals listed above.

In the past, I have worked as a bather in a grooming salon for more than 7 years and have experience working with dogs both large and small. I have been pet sitting and dog walking for 13 years and it's the best job I've ever had!

I have also volunteered to wash rescue dogs at large pet events so that they can be adopted into loving homes.

I believe that animals should be treated as family members and with respect. This is also one of the many reasons that I support the idea of your pet being boarded at your own home where they feel the safest.

I have my own car for reliable transportation and a crate for small animals in the event of an veterinary emergency. I do ask that you provide your vet's information when we meet in person.

I also have experience administering oral and topical medications on cats and dogs. Within the past month I ha e been trained by a licensed veterinary assistant on how to give insulin shot to dogs with diabetes. Please provide specific veterinary instructions. (To be taken with or without food...etc.) I have a lot of experience working with seniors and disabled dogs as well.

Dogs with the following characteristics I WILL NOT pet sit for:

Dogs with separation anxiet and aggressios.

Please note! I charge by the DAY, not "NIGHT".
I no longer provide overnight services in my client's homes.

. For the safety of my own pets, I do not offer boarding in my house

. Please, also be aware that I pet sit for multiple clients at a time and your dog will not be supervised 24/7. That being said, I will always make sure that your pet is safe, has been fed and has gone potty before I leave.

$35 is my base rate for clients that are 10 minutes and under from my house. The maximum distance I can manage in my day to day schedule is a 15 minute drive to my client's home. If you are over 10 minutes away from my house, I charge $10 extra per day for gas.

If your animal requires medicine to be administered, I charge a $5 extra fee per day. If medicine needs to be given to more than one animal I charge $10 extra per day. If your dog needs insulin injections or shots I charge $10 extra for each time the shot is given. If you have more than one animal that needs an injection shot, please speak with me and I will work with you.

Pet sitting services include:

*Feeding & fresh water

*Waste clean-up

*5 minute to 60 minute walk depending on your dogs needs

*Oral/Topi/Injection shot cal medication administration

*Bringing in the mail/newspaper/packages/flyers

*Turning porch lights on & off

*Taking trash bins in & out on trash day

*One on one playtime & socialization

*Brushing (if requested)

*Daily photo updates!

I check-in with my clients every day to let them know how their pets are doing. Not only are they fun to get, it is fun for me to take pictures of your pets. They turn out so cute. Earning the trust of my clients as well as your pets is very important to me.

I also provide dog walking services. Please ask me about my rates!

Referrals and happy reviews are welcomed and appreciated.

As always, Laurel is the best! Our pooch loves her so much, she is always wonderful, professional, thorough, and communicative. She always sends pictures and a quick text letting us know that our pup has been out which really eases our minds. I already have her penciled in for some pooch-free trips this summer. It is such a great feeling to know we have someone that we trust to come into our home and take care of daughter-dog while we are away. Thanks again Laurel!
We can highly recommend Laurel! She won the hearts of our littermate Pugs very quickly. Our male Pug even licked her leg like he does to show daily affection to his "parents." Laurel followed every detail, made it through peculiar medication schedules for each Pug, and kept our home neat and our yard thriving while in her care. She even sorted our heap of mail to make it easier to find what was important quickly. We have already booked two more trips with confidence that our babies will be well cared for in our absence. You can hire her with peace of mind!
We hired Laurel to watch our 2 cats during our holiday vacation and couldn't be happier. She was very professional and thorough. I'm excited to book again when needed. Thanks!
Laurel was amazing! From our first communication, to when I met with her at my home, her communication with me while I was away and how happy Sophie was when I got home. She went above and beyond and really exceeded my expeditions. Being new to having a dog sitter I didn't know how The process really worked. Laurel was exceptional! I will definitely be calling her again and will refer her when I know someone in need of a dog sitter! Thank you Laurel! Love, Sophie and Nati!
I'm so glad I found Laurel - I adopted a puppy & knowing that he is in good hands allows me to go about my day worry-free. Laurel is great!
Laurel was great...responding to messages quickly, demonstrating knowledge, experience and Kindness in taking care of my shy, nervous dog. She was available to come to my house over the Christmas holidays which was such a help! I especially liked her pricing policy for doing a once-a-day check in visit for a partial day. I highly recommend Laurel if you're looking for someone to come to your home to take care of your precious pet!
Laurel is so sweet and responsible. My two Shih Tzu's fell immediately in love with her! Laurel sent pictures and status of how my luv bugs were doing while I was away. Which was so comforting. She walked, played and fed them. When I came home, they greeted me at the door wagging their tails. I am so thankful and grateful to have found Laurel and you will be too! I will definitely choose her again!
Laurel was SO great! We had never hired a pet-sitting service before so we were a little nervous. Laurel came over before the weekend and our normally skittish pup went straight to her! She sent us pictures, videos, and messages throughout our vacation which was very comforting. Our pup didn't have a single "nervous accident" and was so excited when we got home! Laurel even called us on our way home to let us know that Uhura had already been taken out and fed so we didn't need to rush home! We will definitely be utilizing Laurel's services again, even for just walks on long work days. So thankful to have found this website and Laurel Anne!
Laurel is great! Our dogs love to see her come play with them. Laurel sends videos and pictures of her visits which is really reassuring during long work days. We look forward to having her come again for longer vacation dates. Great job Laurel!
Laurel is kind and she loves animals. She is responsible and dependable. Our two needy doggies love when she comes to play ball with them. Laurel has come several times and would recommend her anytime. She is also very flexible.
We are grateful for the excellent care Laurel gave our cat, Sparky, while we were away on vacation. Laurel is a delightful young woman who obviously loves animals. Laurel came twice daily to give Sparky attention and affection. She lives near-by and could stop by before and after college classes. She sent photo/comment updates to my phone. It was evident that Sparky was comfortable with her. Not only did she brush Sparky until his fur was soft and shiny, but she applied flea treatment for us (always a tricky task for me!). She cleaned the litter box, checked food and water, and brought in the mail. Laurel went above and beyond. She swept and vacuumed up the fur on the floor and carpet, and tidied up the kitchen. It was so nice to come home to a clean house and a happy, purring kitty. I know that DogVacay is typically a dog care site, but Laurel is equally comfortable and competent to care for both dogs and cats. I would highly recommend her to others.
Laurel had her hands full with our family of dogs, cat and Koi fish. Our newest rescue is very timid and unsure of other people in our home. She does not warm to strangers easily. It took only 3 days for her to warm up to Laurel and then the going was smooth. She took special care of our senior who was on medication and the others just welcomed her with open paws. She went over and above the day we returned from vacation by staying at our house until we got home - and our flight was delayed - but she still stayed with our pets so they wouldn't have to be alone. She is watching our crew again this coming weekend. And we will be using her services long as she wants to return :-)
Thank you, Laurel !
WOW!!! What a great pet sitter and joy this young lady is. Our pets (all suffering from various health issues/needs) were taken care of with a capable hand and loving heart. All three animals flocked to her when they laid eyes on her, & seemed unusually zen upon our return compared to other instances when we have had to be absent from their routines. Meds were administered, bellies were fed, cuddles completed. She even sent us pics & lil vids of how content they were while we were on our biz trip. When we walked back in the door from traveling, the house was more spotless than when we moved in. Really above and beyond service was included in her brief stay. She even tidied up, did a load of laundry I was remiss in leaving in the dryer, and somehow managed to get, seemingly century old, cat hair out of an area rug... I'm not totally convinced she isn't a magician :-) Thank you Laurel for your kindness and help with our furry family members, & thank you Dog Vacay for having such a respectable host as one of your associates. Sincerely, Tiff & Margo
