Acey and I live in a secluded log home on 5 wooded acres on a private road. In warm weather, dogs are welcome to lie around the house, but they also have free access to a deck with an adjoining fenced dog run. For chilly evenings, there is space for everyone around the woodstove. We regularly use the nearby hiking trails and parks. Your favourite canine will be treated as part of our pack when visiting, will be supervised at all times, and will receive plenty of one-on-one attention. We are "bully-breed" friendly!
I have extensive experience caring for farm animals as well as special-needs dogs -- over the years, mine have had epilepsy, blindness, deafness, arthritis, heart conditions, cancer -- we found our way around obstacles to enjoy long and active years together. Medications or special diet? No problem! I also volunteered as a pet adoption counselor with a local shelter for 2 years, take Acey to dog park regularly, and feel comfortable dealing with various behavioural issues.
I currently have no other pets or children in my home and would prefer to host no more than 2 dogs at one time, but I also understand the need to keep a family together and to locate the right caretaker for your situation in order that ALL have a great vacation. Let's talk!
