Do you have a pup seeking adventure around every turn? Do you wish that you had more time to spend with your best friend with four legs and want their life to be more enriched? Drop your pup at Camp Budlong for "day" or "sleep-away" experience! Your dog will pup-ticipate in various enrichment activities with the other campers (or with the permanent resident, Moro), from nature walks around the various spaces in LA, to romps at the dog park, to cuddles on the couch. We'll also make sure to note any new behaviors you may be working on encouraging or correcting with your furry companion utilizing positive reinforcement training, so there are no interruptions in your training schedule. Pups (and their humans) of all abilities, ages, and genders welcome. Private training available upon request, as well as tons of extra services, from tuck in to extra treat, ask us about all the add ons and the packages to really pamper your pooch while you're away.
About the Camp Staff/Residents:
Amalia grew up on a working goat dairy in the middle of Northern Illinois, where she was responsible for milking the herd twice per day. She has been surrounded by labradors her entire life. She attended Smith College in Massachusetts for her undergraduate degree, and during the summer of 2012 worked for True Blue Dog Training Academy in Leeds, MA as a junior trainer under the mentorship of senior Caroline Moore (of Stay Positive Animal Training LLC, Canine Good Citizen Accredited). She has worked with animals of all skill sets, and believes in finding innovative solutions for each individual training pair of dog and owner.
Moro (aka Scout aka Egg aka lil mush face) is not only the permanent resident of Camp Budlong but also a serious assistant working dog for Amalia. She is currently in training to transition to being Amalia's full-time service animal, and is hoping to be accredited as a Therapy animal as well in 2018. She loves all other dogs and cats, and enjoys co-napping or wrestling over toys.
