Hi, I'm Lydia! I'm a graduate student working on my degree in secondary education. I have always loved dogs and grown up with a golden retriever, who I adore! I do have experience pet sitting for friends and family members. Now that I am out on my own, I thought, what better way to get my dog fix than to take care of dogs in my home?! Furthermore, I live an incredibly active lifestyle and love to be outdoors, so walking dogs gives me the perfect excuse to get outside!
I work part-time as a nanny (I have 8 years of experience) and attend graduate school in the evenings. However, I will have the entire summer off and plenty of extra time on my hands. It doesn't hurt to earn some extra income before I begin student teaching in the fall! I live with my boyfriend who is also willing to help if we provide in-home care. The most your dog will be left alone is 3-4 hours if we are out running errands, at the gym, etc. Fortunately, due to our flexible schedules, one of us is almost always home.
We do live in a pet-friendly apartment so we are willing to provide care for small to medium sized dogs, under 40 pounds. Our community backs up to many paths and hiking trails. Did I mention how much we love hiking? :)
If you choose to board your dog with us, you can ensure he/she will receive at least two walks per day, a lot of play time, and endless amounts of cuddles.
--Must be 100% house-trained. We prefer to allow your dog to have free-roam of our house if left alone. Willing to use you crate if that is the method you prefer.
--Not a major barker.
--No signs of separation anxiety (chewing, peeing, etc.)
--Must not show aggression toward other dogs and/or people.
--Dog must be receive monthly flea/tick treatment.
--We will follow your feeding schedule and can accommodate any special diets.
