About Grant

3 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Hi! My name is Grant Carriker and I just graduated from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. I'm from a small town in Iowa where I helped take care of my family's three pets, two dogs and a cat. They have always been a part of my life, so I miss having some friendly little faces around! I live with three of my closest friends from home, who all are big pet lovers and would be more than happy to help out with any needs your pet might have. Mostly I just want to provide a happy experience for you and your pet so I may continue having the opportunity to take care of them. Thank you very much!

First, communication was awful. I had to pester him to set up the booking until the day before I left, and then didn't get a single text or picture the whole time he was watching my pup. He agreed to stay until 9pm when I got home, but I got a text at 8:20 saying he was leaving and she was in her crate. When I got home, she was in her crate COVERED in urine and feces, and went #1 and #2 when I took her out right away so I know she'd been in there more than 45 minutes. Her collar clasp was caught in the wires of her crate and the collar was chewed through, so she'd obviously gotten stuck and almost choked and needed to chew herself free. God knows where Grant was while that was happening. I let him know the #1 rule is she doesn't go in the kitchen and to keep the dog gate shut at all times, as the cat litter in there can be deadly if eaten by dogs. He left a note that she somehow slipped into the kitchen while he was "in the bathroom" and ate all the cat food, I can only hope she didn't get into the litter as well. There were two wine glasses in my sink with red wine residue, which I don't keep in the house, so obviously he had a guest over (which I didn't OK) and got drunk instead of watching my pets. My poor dog was going absolutely crazy and obviously hadn't been exercised even close to enough for a border collie puppy. She had no water and drank for about 5 minutes when I gave her some. Please DO NOT hire Grant if you care about your pets.
Grant was very attentive to our dog Tofty and our cat Penny. We would book him again without hesitation! He stayed at our home pet sitting and house sitting and we felt very comfortable handing over the keys.
