About Megan

20 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
I am a 4th year veterinary student living in Gainesville, FL and would love to ensure your pets receive the care they deserve! I have been working in the veterinary field for 15 years now, and am confident that I can provide a safe, enriching home for your furry family members. I am currently focusing my study in emergency veterinary medicine, and am also a representative for a veterinary dermatological company that gives me access to a huge variety of products that I can tailor to your pet's skin type. I am very flexible with personal requests, comfortable giving various medications, and am happy to work with puppies and geriatric pets in any stage of training. My only request is that pets are cat-friendly. I can keep the cats away from visiting dogs (I have an upstairs and downstairs that can keep the species separate), but do request that the dogs are not cat aggressive in the case that there is an interaction. I am more than happy to work on manners and training, as long as my personal pets are not in danger. If you have any feline-friends, I am also happy to babysit them as needed.

A typical day in the life with "Boarding to DVM" includes an early morning stroll followed by breakfast and cuddle-time before the day's activities begin. If I have class or work that day the pups will be taken for a 2-3 mile walk beforehand and then set up with water/toys/etc either in my living room or crate (if provided). Pets will only be left un-attended for up to 4 hours. In the afternoon, pets will either be taken to the dog park, for a hike, and/or play fetch in a nearby fenced-in field. Before having dinner and settling in for the evening, everyone receives a oatmeal bath and ear cleaning (products included in service). The remainder of the evening is filled with snacks, cuddles, and walks to go to the bathroom. Training sessions or personalized treatment plans will be completed in the evening. Please feel free to contact me with any specific questions!

Megan is an exceptional pet sitter and an extremely nice human to boot! She has extensive experience caring for pets in both home and animal hospital settings. She has fostered dozens of cats and dogs and is very capable of tailoring to special needs and personalities. Her training in veterinary medicine makes her uniquely qualified to recognize the early signs of stress or handle an emergency in your absence. She has cared for our much loved Labs and Goldens at all stages of life and has always done a wonderful job. I recommend her very highly!

Megan Sullivan is one of the most responsible people I know. This, added to her incredible love for all animals, and extensive veterinary knowledge and skills, sets her above the rest in my recommendations for pet sitters. Megan goes above and beyond with the pets that she takes care of- treating these animals as they were her own. From hikes, to walks to delicious treats and meals, pets under her care are always active, healthy and happy :)

Because of Megan's veterinary schooling (she'll be a DVM this spring!) she is always able to support an animal, even in the worst case scenarios. No pet owner wants to hear their animal is sick or hurt while they're away, but the reality is that there is always a slight possibility. Megan is fast on her feet, quick to triage and use her skills to support the animal in the most appropriate and comfortable way.

She is extremely respectful, eager and a HUGE animal lover-- three essential qualities in someone watching after your pet. I would highly recommend Megan :)

Megan was incredibly caring and diligent with my cat Max. She kept up his complicated medication schedule and made him very comfortable. I couldn't have left him in better hands!
Was very happy with Megan! She came the day before for a meet and greet, and then took care of our 15 year old dog. She sent pictures and updates through out the trip. Happy to know my dog was in the hands of a veterinarian and in her own home. Thank you again!
She took amazing care of my pup who I was so nervous to leave. He had a blast and she made me feel so comfortable leaving him there. I can't say enough good things about her, she truly is special. Thank you again for taking care of my baby while I was away, he is looking forward to me leaving again!!
