Halloween is almost here and, at Piri’s Place, we have a handful of dogs staying with us during the month of October. To get in the spirit of the season, I decided to make treat bags filled with pup-friendly goodies for all my four-legged guests to take home. They’re festive, fun, and easy to make—the perfect thing for celebrating Halloween with your pup, the neighborhood pups, and if you’re a DogVacay Host, your guest dogs.
What You Need
- Doggy treats
- Treat bags; I used two flat styles: black paper & clear cellophane
- Cotton twine
- Markers; I used metallic fine point in gold and silver & extra fine in white
- Hole punches (2-inch & 1/4-inch)
1: Decorate your black flat paper bag with metallic and/or white colored markers. Think: spooky doodles plus “boos” and “trick or treats”!
2: Fill cellophane bags with doggy treats and seal with twine (or if you prefer, use tape or a stapler). Tuck the filled cellophane bags inside the paper bags and set aside.
3: Use the 2-inch hole punch to quickly create name tags from the cardstock; you can also hand-cut tags in circles or any shape you like. Write the name of a doggy recipient on each tag and use the 1/4-inch punch to make a hole on each tag, just over the name, as pictured. Set aside.
4: Fold the tops of the black treat bags and punch a 1/4-inch hole through the middle.
5: Cut pieces of cotton twine for each bag, loop a name tag through each, tie, and that’s it. Happy Halloween!
