I specialize in larger dogs and love then. I love all dogs so if you're unsure ask. If my schedule shows as unavailable (red or grey) your dog has previously stayed with me please feel free to contact me; and I will make room to accommodate your furry loved one(s). Before your dog enters my home ensure that they have used the bathroom (poop and pee) and your dogs nails are clipped/trimmed.. I live in a quiet neighborhood, have a fenced in yard and access to a nice dog park. I will ensure your dog will get a walk in/two each day if you request that specifically. Because I typically keep 2-5 dogs on a given weekend they get lots of exercise. If not I'll provide walks and/or trips to Towers Dog Park for play time. I live alone and am single. Therefore my dog and yours are my top priority. I usually keep a few DogVACAY guests. Many of my current DogVACAY guest have been coming for a while and all get along great. They have lots of fun here. I typically only take 1-2 new dogs at a time on a given weekend to ensure my current DogVACAY guests and yours get along - most of my dog guest are regulars (90%).I have a wonderful back yard that if we can't get walks in or to the dog park -your pup will get plenty of excursive - as my dog loves to play - and run. However he's content if your dog is low key with relaxing all day. I just had the fence checked and ensured that there are no places to escape - fresh mulch has been laid and I'm in the process of reseeding the gras and summer yard work - fence is 7" high. When you book through me, please remember to bring the following things when you drop off your dog:
1. Enough of your pet's food for the length of the vacay, plus at least 2 days additional days of food - especially during winter or when flying. If you do not have time to procure food, please let me know and I will add it via a custom quote or you can reimburse me upon pickup Via Square or cash). 2. Any medications/vitamins/dog treats. I can and have expertise in administering eye drops and oral medications at no additional charge unless it's excessive. 3. Leash and collar/harness.
.4. A bed or blanket (or if you you don't have one - something that smells like home as I have plenty of beds - so not always necessary. 5. . Please don't bring dog dishes as I have plenty unless you have a small dog or a St. Bernard. I wash all dog dishes after each feeding to minimize germs and keep your dog healthy. 6. A crate, if you crate your dog. - but not required - but it's like their bedroom and helps. I do feed the dogs in a crate-so they don't eat each other's food and I'm not nursing them back with chicken and rice. This also helps with slow eaters. I also have extra crates so ask if you need to bring your dogs first. 7. I have elk and deer antlers for dogs guest to chew on as rawhidesusually causes diarrhea.8. I follow your house rules - so if your dog gets in bed or on the couch they can here too - if they don't - I don't want them to think its ok at your place because it's ok her. 9. I do pickups in Arlington and some ares of Del Ran at no cost before or after my work hours only and on weekends. 10. I live close to DCA so you can leave your car parked here if you live further out - and pick up your car and dog on the way home. There is plenty off parking and a quiet neighborhood. The uber, Lyft or tack ride is 5-7 minutes. 11. My bathing rate only applies to dogs under 30lbs, rates over 30lbs will be obtained by a professional groomer and you'll be notified in advance of the cost prior to the charges being incurred. The bathing is extra (nails, glands).
I do daycare, only when I'm off and/or if I'm teleworking (no barkers or dogs with separation anxiety). Please check with me before requesting daycare during the work week.If you've been my customer previously and by chance I've raised my prices - let me know and I'll honer the precious price when you started having your puppy stay here with me (via a custom quote) $35-$40min. Finally, I am ado work full time. When you make a reservation, please provide your preferred dropoff and pickup times. If you incur a delay in your travels, as long as I'm available on my calendar, then I have no issues with extra days as I'm extremely flexible. If you're traveling internationally I use WhatsApp to send photos, videos and updates since it accesses wifi. I've had several DogVACAY guest who prefer that app when traveling abroad. I do not accept aggressive or puppies unless crate trained. Lastly I offer grooming services by a professional groomer that comes to my home so there's a stress free environment outside my home and your dog will be clean. I can schedule it, I'll pay up front and you can reimburse me based upon what you need done. Doing it at my home in an a/c or heated van takes the fear of a doggie ride. They do spring de-shedding the tip is all up to you - regardless. A clean dog when you come home is one less thing to worry about after a trip!
