My name is Becky (obviously). I am 21 years old and currently working at a doggy daycare full-time. Even though I am working around the clock taking care of dogs, I do provide a pet service in my own home as well. I have two Great Danes and three cats. I am currently going to ABC (Animal Behavior College) to earn my dog trainer certification, and upon receiving certification will open up dog obedience classes. I've been working with dogs for three years now, but have owned dogs all my life. I've also owned cats all my life as well and am a bit of a cat lady. One of your questions might be: if you work full-time at a doggy daycare, how do you take care of these dogs? I have a family staff that is dedicated to take care of the dogs just as well as I am and will send photographs and text messages throughout the Guest dog's stay to keep you up to date. I have a schedule that you can look at on my pictures.
-MUST BE NEUTERED
If all intact males were well-behaved, mild tempered, less humpy and less sprayee then this would not be a requirement but unfortunately intact males love to spray, love to mount and are not always mild tempered.
-MUST BRING PROOF OF UP-TO-DATE VACCINATIONS
-MUST BE POTTY TRAINED
I do not accept eight week-old puppies into my household. It is not my job to potty train them (unless I'm being paid extra to do so), it's yours. I have a carpeted household and it takes too much time and effort to clean up urine and feces. I do not allow "potty pads", either. Too many small breed dogs are not potty trained to go on potty pads and yet their owners seem to think they'll figure out they're supposed to eliminate on the pads on their own. Saying that they are "80% potty trained" is unacceptable. They are either trained to go outside, or they are not. There is no percentage to being potty trained.
-If over 60lbs, they must be trained to walk on-leash. If not, they are required to wear a "gentle leader" which I will provide. When I walk a dog, I want it to be a pleasant experience for the both of us. Pulling is not an option. If you have any questions on what a "gentle leader" is, message me.
-MUST BE CAT FRIENDLY
They don't have to love cats but I do want my cats to be safe in their own home. I had instances in the past where dogs have tried to literally exterminate my kitten and they weren't allowed to return. It's sad but my cats safety comes first.
