About Barbara

6 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Hi, I'm Barbara and I've been caring for dogs quite by accident for 6 years. It started by taking in my friend's two Siberian Huskies for several months until the dogs could make the trip to Sweden. From that point on we've had dogs in our home. We've adopted two rescue Huskies. We also foster Huskies as well. I care for my sisters' dogs too when they are out of town. Sometimes we have a mix of big and small dogs, various breeds and everyone gets along fine. Our current Husky, Quila, gets along with every dog that's come into our home. My husband and our daughter help give the dogs plenty of attention. I walk the dogs daily and have play time and plenty of cuddle time with them. I'm home most of the day so they aren't alone very often. I have dog loving friends who join me for walks and our yard is great for the dogs to run and romp together. Our yard is completely fenced in and we have a locked gate. We have a comfortable, peaceful home. My lap is always open for a doggy.

Our two year old poodle was very happy staying with Barbara! She and her husband made us feel confident and secure about leaving for a 5 day weekend the end of October. We received many pictures and updates (daily) letting us know what our dog was doing, and it made us feel wonderful to know she was treated like one of the family! We'll definitely use Barbara and her family for future vacays! Thanks so much
Barbara and her husband were great! Our dog has some anxiety issues with men (he was a rescue) and her husband went above and beyond to help him through his anxiety. They were buddies by the time we picked him up at the end of our trip. We received pictures every day - we knew he was in good hands. We would definitely recommend Barbara and her husband to others and would definitely leave our dog with them again!
Barbara was friendly and took great care of our aging lab. A text everyday to keep us informed and attention to Scout's needs.
Barbara did a wonderful job taking care of our fur babies!! Highly recommend!!
We went out of town to our sons wedding, we have two dogs who can be barking pains. Jeff and Barbara were not concerned. They have a nice large back yard for the dogs to be in when weather is nice so much better then a cement kennel. They took our dogs on walks and it was a nice little vacation for our dogs as well as a worry free enjoyable time at our sons wedding. They sent photos which is always a nice treat to see that all is well
Barbara and her husband were very accommodating and even sent picture updates while I was away!
The whole experience was great with two exceptions and both my fault. Barbara was great at communication and went above and beyond to take care of my Lab. The two issues were that he ran out of food and he was anxious the first night when it was time for bed.

The food was either miscommunication on the number and amount of feedings or I didn't provide enough. Unfortunately I now have a dog that can't keep food down because Barbara have her dogs own food out of the goodness of her heart. Moral
Of the story is to be clear about feedings and make sure you provide enough food. Not all dogs can stomach other food.

The bed was an issue because our dog is spooked by noise and barks and gets anxious...weird for a lab. Anyway, it was tough on Barbara but she really did not complain at all and really worked with our dog to make him comfortable
Barbara took great care of Shady (husky/lab) while we were away! She sent us pictures and messages to let us know how she was doing. They went on mile long walks everyday and made sure to include lots of play in their fenced backyard. They spoiled her while reinforcing our commands. Will definitely go back!
It was great working with Barb. She has a great fenced backyard and our dogs immediately love it there! They are very passionate and caring about dogs and even sent us a photo of them while we were gone. We will definitely reach out to them again in the future!
Barbara was wonderful with our pug for a long weekend stay, including daily walks and update photos and texts. She has a nice enclosed yard in a quiet neighborhood. Scheduling was very smooth for both drop off and pickup. We will definitely use Barbara again!
Very welcoming hosts. My pet was immediately at ease with them and their pet. Very patient.
Our miniature pinscher, Loki, has anxiety. He had never been left with anyone other than family, and even that is rare. We were so worried that he would howl, wimper and not eat once we left him. Our worries were for nothing! Just hours after we left, we received a text and photo from Barbara. Loki had enjoyed a nice long walk. Throughout our vacation Barbara sent updates, including one that expressed how much Loki enjoys playing fetch.
Upon return, I was amazed at how Loki acted as though we had not left him at all. I watched him happily run around the fenced in yard and engaging with Barbara's own husky.
We are more than pleased! We feel fortunate that we can now leave town more often knowing that we have found someone to take such good care of Loki.
Barbara and her husband were very friendly. They took my Lab in on a very short notice for the 4th of July weekend. She sent multiple pictures and updates everyday. I would recommend them for your next boarding.
