Pet care experience
Our home is extremely dog friendly as we have 6 well behaved and socialized dogs of our own. We have a large, fenced in play yard with doggie doors that let the dogs decide when they want to go out and sniff around, engage in some tug-of-war with a friend or take a dip in one of the dog pools. Inside, the dogs are welcome to lounge on a dog bed of their choice and just hang out with the rest of the family. All dogs get at least one walk a day...and sometimes there are special trips to the dog friendly beaches, hikes in the woods, or some shopping at a dog friendly store. Some visitors have even ridden in the convertible but they had to agree to wear their seat belt and protective eyewear! I am an approved AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and trainer. I also hold the position of Evaluator for Therapy Dogs United, INC. Puppy Power Hour is held at my home every Monday evening so puppies get their "socialization vaccination". And I have four certified therapy dogs of my own.

Tammy is absolutely amazing. Her nine dogs are extremely well behaved. Her dogs know how to be well behaved but can also be energetic and have fun. Our puppy is fortunate to be in such as environment Tammy introduces one of her dogs to our pup, allows them to socialize for a few minutes, then brings out the next dog. The process takes between 20 to 30 minutes. Tammy takes the time to go through this process each time we go to her place. We received photos and videos during the visit so we know how our pup is doing. Our pup is so happy to be with Tammy and her pack that he doesn't even notice when we leave. I look to Tammy as a role model in how I want to be around my pup and other dogs. Thank you Tammy for your wonderful work.
Tammy's place was perfect and I will happily send my dogs to her again anytime. I'm VERY choosy and Tammy does things always with safety and the dog's happiness in mind. So she was terrific and the dogs came home healthy, calm and obviously happy.
We absolutely loved our experience with Tammy B and DogVacay. It brought us such peace of mind to leave our pup with such a confident and responsible host. Tammy's home is perfect for dogs, with ample room to play and many dog friends to play with! Her fenced in yard is very secure with double gates to ensure that no dogs can slip out. Tammy's dog training credentials were also a huge plus! (no one wants to re-train their dog after a week of rule breaking!) Our host was very kind, organized, prompt, trustworthy, and well prepared. Our dog was walked daily, socialized, cared for individually, and loved. I would recommend Tammy B as a host without a second thought, and would love to have her watch our dog again! Information Tammy B. would like to know about your pet
Our favorite breed is the Standard Poodle. I am a foster parent for the Mid-Atlantic Poodle Rescue and we have 5 standard poodles of our own. We will not house males over the age of 8 months that have not been neutered, so that would be important to know.
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks I live in the town of North East. It is a small community with two traffic lights on the Main St. This is where I do my dog walking. We will be on sidewalks, except for when crossing the street. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Most dogs do sleep in the bedroom with us. The exception would be an excitable dog that has trouble settling. In such a case, the over jubilant dog would be crated in the kitchen at the bottom of our staircase from the bedroom. For some small, jumpy dogs, it would be an issue of safety...they are welcome to be crated in our bedroom or sleep in a "pup" tent in a room where they cannot hurt themselves in unfamiliar surroundings. Time I'll spend with your dog This is what I do for a living. I will be with your dog ALL day. If another dog has a vet or grooming appt. or I have a dog class, then my husband is home with the dogs.

About this sitter: When I am not taking care of dogs at home or teaching dog classes, I am lucky enough that my other job lets me take my dogs to work. I am an instructional aide for kindergarten in the North East School District and everyday that I work at the school, two of my four certified therapy dogs attend school also and provide various services for the students and staff there. In addition to the hours my dogs put in at the school, we also volunteer as a team to reading programs at libraries, bookstores, other school districts and universities.
