Hi. Thanks for stopping by. I have had dog(s) of my own for 17 years and lost my Max in late January. I used DogVacay with Max, and loved it, so thought I would return the favor and open my home to your little (or big) ones. I live in the Bailey's Crossroads area, about 5 blocks from the W&OD trail and 2 miles from Shirlington area.
I have a new rescue from Lost Dog and Puerto Rico, Josie, who loves all dogs. People? We're still working on that; as well as a fat, 16 year old cat that is super friendly, so hope your pup likes cats, or at least not want to hurt them. She's pretty low key. I work from home so can keep your pups schedule with potty breaks, feeding and walks. I normally leave the house for a couple hours for errands and the gym on a daily basis. I worked for a local pet sitting company part time for a couple years sitting dogs and cats alike. I volunteer for a local animal rescue, Lucky Dog, and have fostered 17 puppies in the past 5 years until they find their forever home.
Going out of town and need someone to check on the cat? Happy to help. Have a busy day at work and into the evening? I offer daycare as well!
I live in a condo community, on the bottom floor, so no stairs, and we have a beautiful courtyard and about 10 dogs in the area. We are a very pet friendly community. There is a park across the street and lots of neighborhoods to walk, or not walk. I had a 15 1/2 year old pup (my cover photo) that passed in Sept, so I am familiar with older dogs.
I prefer a housebroken dog. If there is a pair of pups that need to be together, I'm open to taking them both. No more than 2 dogs at a time however. I do have one large crate, so no need to bring your own.
Josie, Jazzie and I look forward to meeting you and your pup! Our goal is to allow you to have a stress free time away, knowing that your pup is in great hands. It will truly be their home away from home.
