About laura

15 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
I work from home most of the time...I have had dogs every since I was a young girl. I am the first person my friends come to when they need someone to watch there pets when they go out of town. I live in the east village and have a large fenced in back yard.
I work from home so I am with the dogs most of the time. I am available to watch your dog for any length of stay. Your pups special needs will be met (i.e., medicine or toothbrushing). I would prefer to watch dogs 30lbs and smaller because of the size of my miniature dachshund. I prefer to meet all dogs before booking. Your dog will be walked twice a day plus have playtime in my backyard. I have a 1 year old daschund who is very friendly and up to date with her shots. I am happy to update you daily about your dog while you are out of town!

Holiday Rates are higher and I will send you a customized quote.

note: I am very flexible with pick-up and drop off.... However, if you are picking up your dog after 9pm you will be charged an addition half day fee of $25.

Laura is great! I would hire her to board my dog again.
This was our puppy Ophelia's first time away from home and Laura made it so easy for us to feel comfortable leaving her for a few days. Ophelia loved Laura's dog Pony and Laura was responsive and helpful when our return flight was canceled due to a blizzard. She kept Ophelia for an extra day and night and helped us out so much in a tough situation!

Laura is great! Snoop stayed with her and her dachschund, Pony for 10 days while I went to Italy. This was the longest time that Snoop and I were apart although he has stayed with Laura for shorter periods of time in the past. Laura and I texted a couple of times because I missed Snoop and wanted to see how he was handling our separation. All went well and Snoop was doing just fine. When I saw Snoop again he was his happy, loving self. I can't recommend Laura highly enough. She's terrific!

Laura and Pony were wonderful hosts. Very accommodating and Buddy had so much fun he didn't want to leave. Definitely recommended.
Laura was great. My dog, Snoop is 7 yrs old and was never away from me overnight before. After a bit of crying, he settled down and had a comfortable Dogvacay with Laura and her dachshund. I plan to bring Snoop to stay with Laura again. Highly recommended.

We had Laura walk our 3 month old Bucky when we were out of town. It was a breeze communicating with Laura and she was super responsive with texts and pictures of the walk and even took him to the dog park. After the walk she put back in his crate after the walk. Will definitely reach out to her the next time we need assistance to help out with Bucky.

Laura was great! It was great to know she was home with my dog often and that my dog got lots of outdoor time. She even picked my dog up from boarding for me while I was away. I will definitely be using her again!
Laura and Pony were wonderful hosts. Very accommodating and Lula had a wonderful time.
Rufus got along really well with Laura's mini dachshund Pony and seemed really happy - its the longest I have ever left him and he usually loses weight when I'm gone but he was his usual chunky self when I collected him :)
Easygoing and super-flexible despite my crazy travel schedule, she checked in to let me know things were going well and I could tell when I picked up that my dog had a blast while she was there! Will definitely try to leave my pup there again next time I travel! Can't wait to see pics of her dog and my dog playing together during her "vacation."

Laura and her brother were great! We received pictures of Molly while we were gone and felt comfortable with her care. Recommended!
Laura was great! Fred had a lot of fun paying with her dog in the yard. He looked really happy!
Laura was a great host! Her apartment has some outdoor space, which is rare in NYC, and our dog loved it. Lolo came back happy and well-fed, and had a fun time playing with Laura's dog Pony. (Who, by the way, is sooo cute.)

Laura's brother even stopped by our neighborhood on the other side of town to drop off a blankie that we'd left there after Lolo's visit.

Would definitely send our pup back for a vacay anytime.

We were very happy with finding Laura to take care of our dog. The care and attention she dedicates, together with the fact that her house has a backyard and that she has a little dog of her own, make it a perfect place to leave your pet. Communication with Laura was always great -- from the first visit, to the drop off, to the period we were abroad, to the pickup. And we can tell that Laila misses the friends she made there. We will leave Laila there again and recommend it to others too.

This is the second time I have boarded with Laura. My dog gets separation anxiety, but Champ practically ran up to Laura's door as we approached. I knew he must have loved his last visit, because I have to drag him into the overnight kennel near my apartment. Her dog Pony is adorable and friendly trying to keep up with her gave Champ quite the work out.

I am crazy about my dogs teeth, and requested that she bush them after every meal. Laura did not skip a beat and assured me she would honor the request.

Her backyard is a dream come true for any dog. Laura is so kind and responsible I would let her watch my children if I had any.
