My name is Avalon and I am a student currently attending Ryerson University in the Criminology program. I was the proud owner of a border collie for 11 years. He unfortunately passed away a few years ago; I sincerely miss the companionship and responsibility of caring for not just a dog, but a member of the family. It is for this reason I believe I would be perfect person to care for someone else's companion, as no one knows better than I how special they are.
I live in a house with a very spacious, enclosed yard perfect for a dog to run and play in. I live minutes from two different parks and a ravine, with ample walking routes to enjoy. I also have a cottage in Muskoka - if the owner is comfortable with it, I could even bring the dog up there to run, play and swim on our three acres of land. Located in the middle of cottage country, experiencing the new sights and smells of the forest would be a great vacation for any city dog.
The inside of my home is perfect for any type of dog. There is a small staircase leading to the front door, but should it be required, I can board off this area for safety. We have a great big couch perfect for relaxing after an exciting day exploring the neighbourhood.
I live with my parents and older brother - all who love pets and dearly miss our dog. They are as excited for the opportunity to care for another dog as I am. Because of this, any pet will be well loved and cared for primarily by myself, but also by my family. With four licensed drivers in the home, someone will always be available to rush your pet anywhere should they require medical attention.
Because I cared for my dog all the way from when he was a puppy into his senior years, I know how to look after dogs of all ages. My dog suffered from severe joint pain, so I am experienced in providing oral medication at specified times throughout the day. On top of this, my border collie was aggressive toward many other dogs while on walks, so I know how to handle a dog who pulls on his leash and is unfriendly toward other dogs.
My availability is very flexible; however I am still in university so I do have class three days a week. Your dog may be left unattended while I am in class, but for no longer than 3-4 hours at a time. If your pet requires constant care, I can only do so on the weekends. If this isn't an issue for you andf you are looking for a reliable individual who loves pets of any kind, I would be honoured and thrilled to care for your furry friend.
Because I only board one dog at a time, your dog will receive one on one personal care and individualized treatment. This is what sets me apart from another service, where your dog will have to compete with multiple other dogs for attention. If you want your dog to be in a comfortable, loving home environment where they will be treated as part of the family, I would love to hear from you!
