About Rheanna

20 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
My name is Rheanna, I am 31 years old. I have an extreme love of our wonderful K9 friends (all animals really). Dogs are an amazing gift that we, humans, have been graced with the opportunity to love and cherish. Without the dogs (family members) I've had the utmost pleasure of having, and calling my own, my life would be significantly less. They have all had such an impact on my life, I can't even put into words the amazing benefits my puppies have brought me (They are all puppies in my eyes).
I've always had a very strong connection with virtually every dog I've come in contact. I've experienced meetings with friend's dogs, which at the time of or before meeting these new friends of mine, I was warned: this dog is timid, this dog is hesitant in the beginning, give it time he will relax when he does you two will be best friends. Warnings of dogs that are hesitant in the beginning when meeting a new person. Every time I've been given this sort of warning, the dog has relaxed and learned to love me in a significantly reduced amount of time, compare to other meetings of new people.
I am a strong, firm but extremely loving alpha. Dogs respect me, as I respect them. I seem to possess an ability to understand and communicate with our furry friends. I have a particular fondness for the larger dogs, but this is mostly due to the teddy bear like qualities of the gentle giants. But every dog has a personality, and I love to learn the ins and outs of each and every one of them.
To me, dogs are our children. I love them all. Your best friend will reap the benefits of being showered with my love and devotion while you are away. And there is never any need to worry about your dog while you are away and he is in my care. My K9 instincts are strong, and I guarantee, if these were your children, I'd be the babysitter they'd request while you are away.

In the recent months, I've had my boyfriend, Dennis, meet with clients with me, in an effort to guarantee every promise and need is met, no matter what unforeseeable event life can throw at me. He's really great with the dogs, in my entire life, I've never really met anyone that is on the same level as me with dogs and their acceptance, until I met him. He moved to Seattle from the east coast in 2001, we've known each other for just shy of a decade. He's owned dogs his entire life, but currently neither of us have a dog, as he put his beloved Maui down last January. She is missed dearly. I'd love to bring Dennis with me to our Meet and Greet, so if this is something you're comfortable with we'd both love to meet you and your pooches!

Dog sitting: Mastiffs, Pit-bulls/Stafford Shire Terriers, Labradors, Golden Retrievers, Chocolate Labs, German Shepherds, Rottweilers, German Short Hair Pointers, Bulldogs, Boxers, Chow Chow, Poodles, and mixes but I'll accept any breed.

Why I love dog sitting:
I have loved dogs as long as I've owned dogs. My family got our first family dog when I was in the 4th grade. I have had a quite indescribable relationship with dogs ever since. There is a connection, we just seem to get each other. I am a strong alpha, with a loving touch. My own personal, most significant story, would be that of my best friend Wiley. He was a German Shepherd, with quite an extensive amount of training. He was owned by the woman my dad dated from the time I was in the 6th grade until just after the 8th grade. The only way I can describe my relationship with this dog was that we were soul mates. We just got each other. No words were needed, we were able to communicate on a much higher level of senses. Wiley had Search and Rescue training, protection training, poison training (trained to not take food from strangers), and he responded to commands in four languages, German being the one he never hesitated to follow. Unfortunately, Wiley was trained in a method no one should tolerate. After 6 years of physical harm for simple slip-ups, we refused to allow his owner to take him with her when she moved away. The following year, we had x-rays taken of his spine. There were three sections, one 6 inches long, another 4 inches long, and the third 4-5 inches long in his tail, where the bones had fused together with calcium deposits, due to being struck on the spine. The most difficult day of my life was making the decision to end his pain. Within two years, I had his name tattooed on my right ankle. It will be 11 years ago, this June, since I lost my best friend. I have yet to find any dog quite as amazing as he, but I know there is another. This was just the beginning of my lifelong love of all things K9. If I could, I'd have a big huge dog of my very own to come home to everyday. Cuddle up with, laugh, love, hug, cry and share my life with. Unfortunately, I do not have the time necessary. The money needed in the event every mother's worst nightmare comes true and a trip to the hospital is necessary. And, although I love all dogs, I've never had a dog smaller than 40 or 50 lbs. I'd love to get to know your best friend, and experience all the amazingness he has to offer the world. I guarantee a very happy dog (or cat; cats were the beginning of my lifelong love and desire to see each and every animal cared for and loved to the fullest extent) when you return home.

My experience administering medication
Extremely, at the age of 13 I was giving our family dog an aspirin every day for his arthritis. My pill administering technique is an extremely low-stress for the dog, always rewarded with a treat, and lots of love. Giving shots is another story, I've only recently learned the process of giving a dog a shot, due to a client's dog being diabetic. I'm still getting comfortable with the process, but I'm not worried that I couldn't handle giving a dog medication this way.

Rheanna is caring and attentive. My Yorkie is very well taken care of with her. She ensures not only all necessities are met, but that your pet feels secure and loved. Her knowledge of animals is very diverse and she is well informed of what your pet needs. Rheanna's care is the best, hands down.
