About Annie

40 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
An Active Host Since 2011. Minutes from the Airport and Downtown! As always a Bubble Bath included with every Vacay! Note: *Please check with me personally on availability as I am officially booked more times than not but have been doing what I love to do and managing a pack most life and will accommodate if at all possible!* Also note: *smoking permitted outside my home, 'though this does not indicate the quality of care provided.*
Hi, I'm Annie! I have been involved continuously in animal rescue/fostering/giving forever homes for, well gosh, most my life, not for pay, I am a seasonal Tax Examiner with the Internal Revenue Service but this is my passion and I love doing what I'm doing so much, that I might not go back! :) 24/7 supervision and love! A puppy? A high energy pup? A special needs pup? No problem! If your pup is game, walks daily to Mueller, Lady Bird Lake or Barton Springs and if your pup is really adventurous, my favorite watering hole is Pale Face, along with other puppy playmates to explore, on-leash of course..:) If you prefer a more laid-back Vacay, a huge back yard perfect for off-leash exploration fun in the sun, kiddie pool provided of course..:) and relaxation in the shade in a privacy fenced, safe and secure environment. Perhaps they prefer the company of humans and lots of snuggle time, I can certainly accommodate..:) and yes, they usually do end up in bed with us..;) matter of fact, it usually ends up a big ol' slumber party! :) Never kennel myself but if you prefer or if you feel is needed as security blanket for your pup, please feel free to bring along but have never found necessary..:)

Kind of an old hippy and tree hugger I suppose, lots of peace, love and understanding here..:) I do enjoy spending time with the pups outdoors, weather and your pup's preferences permitting, BBQ often and a fire pit out back, which we have the tendency to curl up around..:) and do on occasion burn incense or have a cigarette on my patio after a fun filled day so if sensitive to smoke, please make me aware and can certainly refrain from and accommodate and your pup will certainly come home freshly bathed after all the puppy play! :) Oh, and yes indeed, I do have Pitties but no bullies here! :) Please be current on preventative to ensure a wonderful Vacay for all and I can certainly assist here as well..:)
Outstanding references from South Congress Veterinary Clinic, Emancipet, and Animal Trustees of Austin.

Now offering a free trial night with an extended stay!
Discounted rates for extended stays, multi-pet families and repeat guests of course! The longer your stay, the bigger your savings! VERY flexible drop off and pick up times at no additional charge!

Can't wait until the Vacay! See ya soon! Woof! :)-annie

Note: *I love cats as well, thus have been also referred to as, annie's cathouse..;) and offer cat sitting as well as dog sitting 'though I realize might not be a good fit for all, would love to visit your kitty while you're away, and can certainly check mail, the security of your home, water plants etc. and is a service I provide for my own friends.*

Annie was so sweet with our dog, Neilah. Our usually anxious girl was happy to leave us, and came home exhausted from all the play, stimulation and attention.

Annie sent great updates, photos and videos and was very attentive. We are looking forward to booking with her again.
If not for Annie my life would be a lot more complicated. I have never been comfortable being away from my pup for any length of time, now I can leave for months at a time if need be for work, family emergency or holiday travel, though I still miss my pup dearly, Annie always offers face-time, sends tons of updates, and I know without a doubt my pup is in the most loving and capable hands. Annie supervises 24/7, which is required for my pup, provides all the extra care and love at no additional charge, which is unheard of, whether it be treating pre-existing conditions with homeopathic remedies my vet had been unsuccessful in treating, bathing, applying natural preventatives, sending home made bbq jerky treats or refusing to take additional payment for a last minute request, early drop off, late pick up etc., this is clearly more than a job with Annie and is absolutely her passion. I firmly believe Annie would provide care for no charge at all if there weren't so many willing to pay for her services, and she does for many as she is very involved in rescue. She provides an amazing value and doesn't come near the traditional costs, I couldn't put a price on the quality of care she provides! Annie is a Godsend! Your dog is not only a guest at Annie's but a family member and even after the stay has ended, Annie's care has not. My dog has been staying at Annie's since a puppy, its been years now, and couldn't imagine leaving with anyone else. Reserve early on as she books up fast!
Our poodle terrier Franklin seemed to have a ton of fun at Annie's! We loved that he got to sleep wherever he wanted to and not have the anxiety of being locked up. It's obvious that Annie loves what she does and loves the dogs. Franklin came back in good spirits, and even with a bath!

Side note: He smelled like a mix of soap and smoke when he came home. (We're not sure if it's the coat/fur he has that absorbs smells (long haired poodle) because he has definitely absorbed other scents from other places he's stayed before.) However, we just gave him another bath and he was good to go.

Overall, we'd recommend Annie! We felt very comfortable with her and knew that he was getting all the love, attention, and exercise he wanted. We also loved that there were other dogs there that he was able to play with and practice his social skills. :) The pictures and updates were also a nice bonus!
