I am a UNLV certified Exotic Animal Massage and Care Provider. My experiences include hands on volunteer work such as massages, feedings, walks, playtime, socializing, cleaning and administering medications. I have volunteered for organizations such as Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, NSPCA, and RoosN More Zoo. Aside from working with cats, small and large breed dogs, I have experience in the care of horses, reptiles (ball pythons, iguanas, tortoise), pot bellied pigs, and large parrots such macaws. I specialize in the care of rescued animals and those with ailments. Currently, I have been a volunteer for Vegas Shepherd Rescue a year now, working with German Shepherd Dogs of various ages and sizes, socializing, basic training and tending to their needs. My own family consists of one German Shepherd companion, four cats and one toucan bird. Most of them are rescues and all have taught me the true meaning of unconditional love. The care and well being of animals is my passion.
For dogs, a typical day begins with an hour walk around the neighborhood or dog park. Afterwards, it is feeding time and rest. In the afternoon, playtime involves fetch games and any enrichment that challenges their intelligence. During evenings, it is feeding time and rest before preparing for bedtime with a 30 minutes- 1 hour massage session. Cats are generally very independent. A typical day for them varies, based on their mood. There will be plenty of toys to keep them occupied and offer much needed exercise.
For other species, in addition to both dogs and cats, it is important to arrange meet and greets. This way, I can create a care/enrichment program based on each animal companion's needs. I am also PetAid/PetCPR certified. References available upon request.
