Hi: My name is Kelly. I live in a house with my husband, Joe, and we both work from home!!! We moved to Gig Harbor not long ago. What a great area. We’ve had dogs our entire life and we love them! Our dog, Twyla is a 45 pound mixed breed. She is super friendly. Her day consists mostly of 2-3 walks, plenty of potty breaks and being given snuggles. She tends to be pretty inactive during the workday (she is not the type of dog that plays with toys) but I have tons of toys here. I have plenty of work breaks as well to toss a ball in the yard or play with your dog. I have watched friend’s pets over the years. Recently, I went twice a day to watch my friend’s cat for a month. Now that I am a remote worker, I have more ability to pet sit. That combined with the fact that when I travel, I stress about finding someone that I can trust with my precious pup made me want to offer my services. I am a nurse by trade, and my prior chichuaha required multiple heart medicines. So, I am comfortable with caring for a dog with medical issues or seniors. I also spent many years as a young adult working as a kennel assistant at vet offices.

Kelly and Joe (and Twyla!) took such good care of our pup. She can be a little nervous but she clearly settled in and loved her time there, because I got lots of updates where she was looking progressively more relaxed each day. When we picked her up, she didn't even act stressed or sad which is a huge deal for her! Kelly was very attentive in asking about her specific care needs and getting her daily walks, etc. and their dog Twyla is THE sweetest pup.
Super worried with my older pup but Kelly and Joe made the stay stress free for me and fun for Finnegan! Thank you

We have a large, fenced yard. I always watch our dog when she is outside. She gets her walks daily as well. Our house is 3 stories, so if your pet has problems with steps (wooden) it may not be a good match. We have recently decided to limit our dog watching to dogs 50 pounds and under unless the dog is extremely low energy. It would be a case by case basis so still feel free to reach out. We need to ensure that bigger dogs are not too much for our smaller dog. Our dog is like our child and we care very well for her and will do the same for your dog. We have vehicles for transport if needed.

Going forward, with respect to large dogs, we are only watching dogs 50 pounds or less, unless they are low energy (The rover app has a huge weight range for large dogs) .I am happy to watch any breed that is not destructive, difficult with other dogs or so high energy that they don’t allow us to work. NO constant barkers. We understand an accident may happen in a new home, but for the most part your dog needs to be potty trained as this is also our new home so we cannot watch dogs that repeatedly have accidents. We watch only 1 dog at a time.
A typical day
I will give your pet whatever exercise it needs. We live in a nice quiet neighborhood and close to walking trails. We can play or toss ball in our yard or whatever your dog is used to.

Availability
We both work 8 hour days at home but have plenty of time to walk your dog in the morning, mid- day and after work. We have a quiet house and our dog snoozes most of the day. We do require that your dog is not a constant barker or super restless since we do have to work while at home. Our dog is very happy and I think yours will be too.
