Guiltless Dog Care- Anacortes

Pet care experience

I offer care for dogs that Live in Anacortes and the Greater Skagit County area. Not just any kind of dog. All kinds of dogs. I am dog-intuitive. I see beyond what most people see as cute and note actual dog behaviors that are sometimes precursors to unwanted interactions. The dogs know I am the pack leader. I peacefully direct the pack in activities. I respect that dogs are instinctual and need balance. I will not put an unbalanced dog into the pack. I am calm and assertive and lead your dog to be part of our pack. Two or more dogs are a pack. Beyond that I am an old fashion lover of dogs, I cherish their companionship and know how special they are to their people. Sitting dogs allows me to have all the dog loves I can enjoy. I hope we get to meet soon and see if your dog is ideal for our little pack whether daycare while you are at an appointment or overnight while you go out of town. It will be my goal to return your dog to you balanced and relaxed allowing you to be guiltless knowing your dog was loved and well taken care of while you are away.

Roxanne was very communicative and accommodating. She takes great care to ensure all the dogs she watches get along prior to agreeing which shows her amazing attention to each dog’a needs!

Dogs are treated as if they are our own. While inside there are dog beds with clean covers and lots of space to either join the pack or have privacy. I have a secure fenced yard and double doorway entry so everyone is secure when coming and going. Meals are served separately as we recognize every dog eats differently.

Please be prepared to show proof of flea protection. (package or receipt from a vet) I will do likewise. It is no fun to have fleas. I know you make think your dog may not have issues with fleas but it is not you or your dog, it is the environment we live in. For all Dog guests, it is best everyone has been treated. The minimum age is 3 years and altered. It generally takes until this age to train the basics with your pup. I do not train but will reinforce basic manners and household behaviors. I am willing to consider younger dogs if they are properly trained and meet vaccination and alter requirements as well as interact with pack members respectfully. There may be additional fees on certain holidays. Call to schedule your meet and greet! Ideal for residents of the Greater Skagit County area. If you are traveling to the area, please note I do not take dogs from outside the area. Please take a look at other profiles if you are just traveling through Skagit County. Due to our vetting process, we no longer accept a single day or night stays from out of town. A meet and greet and pack play have always been a requirement prior to being accepted. This can be a challenge for out-of-town dog parents. However, there are at least 10 other sitters here in the area on Rover that can potentially help those who just need a single stay. If you are having trouble locating one, feel free to message me and I will give you some tips on how to search. I vet or assess every dog before they are accepted into the pack. I also require 1 trial daycare before they are boarded. I assess each dog to be sure they are not "reactive" and function well in a little pack of calm dogs that play respectfully. Dogs must know their name, come when called and respond to "no" or "leave it". Please be prepared to show proof of flea protection. (package or receipt from a vet) I will do likewise. A typical day

Dogs are not kenneled. I use an open-range pack method. Early arrivals are given potty time in the early morning hours. Meals are served to all dogs that arrive with meals. After 8:00 am we, go outside to sniff, wander and play in the yard. I am with them the entire time. We come in for a mid-morning group treat of a single ingredient such as freeze-dried liver. Dogs generally settle in for a short nap while I do dog-related duties, like answering calls and emails. They are generally laying under my desk and around my chair. We head back outside for some outdoor fun. By 3-4 pm, most dogs are finished for the day and start watching for their humans. Dinner for boarding dogs is at 4-4:30 pm. This way they have time to digest before bedtime. Everyone sleeps where they are comfortable. Our room has enough sleeping room and beds for everyone to enjoy pack sleeping. We get up early and we go to bed early. They have a full run of the house. and after Dogs are fed with the meals you provide and I have the bowls for water and food. The dogs are never alone. I assure you your dog will get a balance of stimulation.

I watch dogs full-time. It’s my job. Not my side job. I do ask pet parents to be mindful of my hours for pick up and drop off. I am available 6 am - 6 pm weekdays and 10 am - 4pm on weekends. Boarding is 7 days a week. Daycare on weekdays only. This gives us time for ourselves on the weekend without pick-ups or drop-offs. At this time I do not offer drop-in daycare. All care must be scheduled as there is a limited number of spaces.
