About Amanda

10 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
I love animals. I have been around them all of my life. As I was growing up we had dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, hamsters, gerbils, and fish.
I live with my fiancé, Phillip. He is a Marine Corps Veteran and a dog lover just like me. We currently have 3 dogs and 2 cats as well as a revolving door of foster dogs from the rescue I volunteer with.
We live in a large apartment, and we have a dog park available to us. I take our dogs out to play regularly on the days I do not work - I will be able to do the same with dogs staying with us.
I do go to the gym 5-6 days a week - that is generally (other than possible grocery trips) the only time pets are left unattended.

For the past 4+ years I have worked at a veterinary hospital here in Marietta. If you have a pet with special needs, I have you covered. I am well versed in administering not only oral, optic or otic medication, but also injections. I am very passionate when it comes to caring for dogs and cats, but especially the seniors. There is just something about an old sweet dog or cat that tugs at my heartstrings.
Because I work at an animal hospital, I am blessed to be able to take my dogs to work with me. This allows my dogs plenty of playtime in one of the 3 large yards we provide for our boarding animals.
For the dogs who are staying with me, as long as they meet the vaccination requirements of my hospital and with their owner's permission, I am able to bring them to work with me!
Please see below for list of required vaccines.

I will rush your pet to my work and have them evaluated and treated by one of my veterinarians.

Please let me know if you would like any of the following done during your pets stay with us! :)
Nail Trim - $8
Ear Cleaning - $4
Bath - Varies depending on size and coat
Anal Gland Expression - $10

I require pets who stay in my home to be vaccinated. This is a safety precaution for not only your dogs, but for mine and any other guest dogs who come to stay in my home.

To stay in my home I require proof from your veterinarian of the following:
- Rabies Vaccine (1 or 3 year)
- DHPPC Vaccine (1 or 3 year)
- Bordetella Vaccine
*Not required but encouraged is the H3N2 Influenza Vaccine*
HOWEVER - If you would like me to take your dog to work with me, you MUST have proof of all vaccines listed above as well as a current INFLUENZA VACCINATION. The strain required at my hospital is the H3N2 strain of Influenza.
*Not required but encouraged is the Lepto Vaccine*

Small - Medium dogs - $25/night
Large dogs - $30/night
XL dogs - $35/night

I will accept dogs who are intact (male and female) to stay in my home, HOWEVER I WILL NOT KEEP FEMALES WHO ARE ACTIVELY BLEEDING during their heat cycle in my home. I will be more than happy to come to your home and petsit during this time, but I cannot accommodate them in my home. Thank you for understanding.

If for some reason I am unable to sit your pet(s) (due to being completely booked, unavailable in general, or our pets are not compatible), please allow me to recommend an alternate sitter for you. The sitter I will recommend is a coworker of mine at the hospital who also is an approved sitter on DogVacay. I trust her with my pets, so I know you can too!

Amanda Kersey gets 5 Stars. Being a rescue and foster, I'm a detail freak whenever away. Our pets need love, meds and individual care. Amanda fulfills their needs and my wishes, doing even more when she feels it necessary. She has a full schedule as a vet tech and student. No matter how busy Amanda's day/night is, your pets will be taken care of.
Professional, mannerly, honest and smart, Amanda is experienced and provides details while your away.
She is family to us.

Amanda was awesome with Riley. Will definitely be using her again next time I go out of town.
Amanda was great with our 3 month old puppy! During his stay with her, he had a health issue that required a vet visit. She recognized the problem, got him to the vet, and took great care of him afterwards.
Amanda was awesome made it soo easy and she was very flexible will recommend her
