My name is Allie. I have had animals my entire life - including dogs, cat, horses, reptiles and birds. I currently have a 3 year old rescue named Bella. She is a husky/lab mix and loves everybody! She is highly socialized & obedient, and does especially wonderful with shy or timid dogs. She is spoiled rotten but as sweet as they come.
I am also a district leader volunteer for the Humane Society of the U.S., working with lawmakers to help get animal rights laws passed. Animals are my passion. i am currently a graduate student at FSU, which has given me a flexible schedule that allows me to spend lots of time with Bella & her friends.
I have a home (1800 sq ft) with a fully fenced in backyard and a covered patio that includes a doggie door for large dogs to come in and out of the patio as desired - I typically accompany Bella in the backyard, (given Florida heat I like to keep an eye on her outside). My pup has free roam of the house, but I do have gates and a crate in the event you prefer them to be crated or kept to a certain portion of the house at certain times. Bella sleeps with me at night, but she also has various dog beds (and a couch) that she sometimes prefers. Your pets are welcome to sleep with me as well, whatever makes them most comfortable. I live within a few blocks of Piney-Z and frequently take Bella on walks/jogs on the trails. I am also in walking distance to Tom Brown park. I have buckets of toys for interactive playtime & a room in the front of the house for my dog (her playroom). It includes a doggie bed, play toys and some room to play (you can see if in my photos).
I do have a 3 year old female tabby cat. She pretty much does her own thing and is comfortable around dogs but likes to keep to herself.
On a typical day, I take Bella on a mile or so walk in the park in the morning before it gets hot, a light walk mid-day and a jog in the evening. However, on the weekend we enjoy "park hopping" where we go to a few different parks in my vicinity (Tom Brown, Piney Z, etc.). Sundays I usually play with her in the yard and then typically give her a bath.
I absolutely love all animals and enjoy caring for them. I am both reliable and responsible. I have most availability on the weekends/holidays and weekday evenings and early mornings. I treat all animals with the utmost respect and love. I am also currently in the process of becoming a part of the U.S. Humane Society Animal Rescue Team. I have completed various FEMA courses in how to handle animals with illness, in disasters and the anxiety some dogs feel when they are separated from their owners.
I have gained many new friends -both human and furry - through dogvacay & have built long term relationships. please feel free to browse reviews guests have left of me. My listing photos include photos from some of the pups I have and continue to watch regularly.
I would love the opportunity to take care of your pups and to get to know you and your dogs. Here is to a budding relationship and wagging tails!
