About Liz

10 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
I am a registered veterinary technician with 10 years of experience in handling day-to-day care for in-hospital and boarding patients, and also critical care/speciality patients. Very comfortable giving medications, injections, and even uncommon treatments, such as Sub-Q fluids or ear cleaning/medicating. Educated and experienced in some behavioral training and modification techniques so if leash walking is an issue, I'll work towards solving that during my walks. I'm also open to providing some training for certain situations. Nail trims and other grooming services can be included if requested.

Having a registered vet tech walk or dogsit for you means that if the unspeakable were to happen (something as simple as a bee sting to as severe as an unforeseen illness), I am fully capable of handling it and ensuring your dog gets the appropriate care right away. You can also be guaranteed that your pet's state of mind is my utmost priority. I will not act on what is best or more convenient for me, but what is the best care for your beloved pet! For example, if an anxious dog is showing signs of anxiety, my ultimate goal wouldn't be to just stop the symptoms of anxiety for my comfort, but to minimize the actual anxiety itself and reinstate a happy, relaxed state of mind!

I am currently a full-time student and most of my classes are online, so during the day I would be spending time with your dog(s) while I do school work, and taking them for walks during my breaks. Love will be given throughout the entire time (I often type with one hand while the other is petting, and have gotten very good at it!) The only time they would be left unattended is on days I have classes (currently twice a week), or go workout. My personal dog will never be staying with me, she will be staying at home with her "dad".

As an in-house dog sitter, I will perform other duties around the house such as checking the mail, watering plants, etc., but will always respect your privacy and remain in the designated areas of the house and not go elsewhere. You'll return to a house just as you left it and enjoy your vacation knowing your belongings, home, and dog are safe, respected, and well cared for.

My husband and I rescued a two year old Bull Terrier, Lucy two years ago this October,

Our decision to recuse a companion did not come lightly to us. We had many conversations about the needs of our now beloved four year old, Lucy and the responsibilities of her care.

We are very dedicated to her and when my husband's elderly family needed us with them in Texas, I was very stressed about who would care for Lucy in our absence.

Boarding was out of the question. I did not want to burden friends with walking Lucy and I felt Lucy needed more than just a walk, fresh water and feed. I wanted her to have a Human Companion to spend quality time with her and give Lucy the enrichment time, I felt Lucy deserved and needed.

I found Liz. She and Lucy hit it off pretty quickly. Liz knows dogs! While reviewing Lucy's food requirements, Liz was very knowledgeable about Food Allergies and understood Lucy's strict dietary requirements.

This sounds like rambling to people who's furry companions do not experience this, but it's a very relieving feeling knowing she is not going to give her a try that is going to make Lucy's allergies flair up.

The Bull Terrier breed, in general is a naughty breed. With Liz being an RVT (That a Registered Vet Tech - Equivalent to a Human RN) I know that if an accident came up, Liz would know how to deal with it. Having a nutty - very high energy dog, anything can happen.

Overall, with out recent obligations to family out-of-state, I am happy to have Liz to call. She honestly, makes me feel like Lucy is safe, comfortable, and relaxed while we are away.
