My name is Rachel and I've always had a dog in my life. I'm single and 34 yrs. old with a very flexible schedule. I genuinely love dogs, but cannot have a permanent one of my own, so prepare for your precious darling to get some extra loving from me. And probably a nickname. Apologies in advance, I just can't help it.
If your pet needs exercise and it's possible, I'll take them to walk at the Mountain Home VA park, a local dog park, or even down to Boone Lake. My neighborhood is very dog-friendly and I've even been known to hire the little boys from across the street to run around like maniacs with especially energetic dogs.
All types of dogs are welcome--I had a wolf hound when I was very young (admittedly I rode her like a pony), grew up with a beagle I adored, helped friends in graduate school who rescued pets but had no experience, and even now will drive to Bluefield, WV, for my uncle's princess of a cocker spaniel "Abbie." My relatives often expect me to watch their dogs when they can't--even my little sister's beloved "Polka Dot" after hip surgery. Depending, I may bring along a playmate for your dog.
While cats are not my usual companions, I enjoy their attitudes and am familiar with their care (play and physical)--I had one stretch of cat-sitting that lasted 3 months!
Personally, I keep house for my mother and help care for my grandmother while working as a tutor. If you popped in to see me, you'll most likely find me with a book in my hand! I cook, garden, and welcome canine companionship to bring me company.
Polka Dot and Abbie don't live with me--they belong to my sister and my uncle. I've listed them because they are the dogs most likely to be in my home at any given time.
Please, come and get to know me--I think you'll spot my soft spot for dogs right away and they ALWAYS figure me out pretty quickly!
PS: As much as I'll love spending time with your dog, I will abide by your wishes for their care. You know what's best for your dog and I know you love your pet and have your rules for a reason.
