About Karyn

16 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
I'd love to take care of and pamper your pooch but please only contact me if your dog:

1) weighs more than 30 pounds
2) is socialized with other dogs
3) at least 3 years old (exception greyhounds)
4) new clients require a meet & greet first

I invite greyhounds, sight hounds, and other breeds pending a Meet & Greet. Older, senior, and less active dogs are especially welcome. Dogs must be altered, free of fleas or ticks, current on vaccinations (including Bordatella), and licensed by Pima Animal Control or another animal control agency (new clients, please provide proof).

I have cared for greyhounds, GSP, English bulldog, beagle, labradoodle, Australian cattle dog, Airdale, flat coat retriever and standard poodles -- many but not all have been seniors.

Your dog receives 1-to-1 attention. An average day includes: morning walk, lounging on soft beds, fed twice a day (using a covered container, bring your own dog food so not to upset his or her digestive system), playtime, occasional treats (made in the USA), and pampering & some grooming (brushing, paw balm massage). No extra charge for medications, if applicable.

There is a double yard with 6-foot fence and block walls around the patio. Dogs are indoors during hot summer months and may be outside with supervision. I’m hands-on, mostly-retired. Pickup/drop-off flexible; will transport/extra fee.

I believe dogs should be treated like beloved pets and family members. My dogs have always had better healthcare than I do. I'm on the steering committee for Adopt Love Adopt Local and volunteer for Southern Arizona Greyhound Adoption, Beading Divas to the Rescue and other animal-related causes.

Upon request, I give 10% donation back to the animal charity of your choice for a minimum of 7/nights or longer stays.

Dogs make the world go round.

My dog came home healthy and relaxed after his stay at Karyn's place. Sleeping on a sofa is so much better than a kennel floor!
I loved Karyn and her sweet greyhounds. For most dogs she would provide a very caring home while you are away. Great back yard for exercise! Unfortunately, I have a large, strong, very pushy dog with too much energy. This type of dog may not suitable. I appreciated that Karyn was game enough to give him a try!

The experience was excellent. Karyn took very good care of my dog Millie. I felt Millie was safe and well cared for. Karyn walked her every day more than once. Karyn also sent me a daily report usually with a picture. Very pleased.
Karyn is a great host for our beagle, Calvin! He feels at home with her and her dogs. He is always excited to stay. We like the peace of mind that he is being so well taken care of.
Karyn is very dog savvy and did a wonderful job with Misty, my 10 year old greyhound. I highly recommend her.
My husband and I are very happy with the care that Karyn provided for our 10-year old Standard Poodle (Cookie) while we were out of town.

We were impressed with her thorough process and her attention to Cookie's daily needs. Karyn made sure that Cookie got along with her dogs. She also asked questions to learn about Cookie's daily habits, likes, dislikes, diet, health issues, and sleeping preferences. She wanted to provide her with a similar living environment (like we have) to avoid any distress. Karyn kept us updated and even emailed us a photo of Cookie all relaxed in a deep sleep.

When we returned, we picked up Cookie as planned. Cookie seemed happy to see us, but also sad to leave her new friends.

We are impressed with Karyn's services and the way she cared for our Cookie. We would use her services again and again, without any hesitation.

This is the second time we had Karyn take care of our dog and he was very excited when we got there, wagging like crazy. And since we live most of the year in another state, it had been a year since he was last there. He is clearly happy there and Karyn is very thoughtful in sending us photos and notes about how he is doing. She is gentle and loving with her dogs and mine.

I loved taking my dog, Suki to Karyn's. Karyn is experienced, caring, and the safeguarding of your dog Is a priority. Suki had a good time, and the resident greyhounds were very tolerant of her (she's young, kinda mannerless with other dogs space)
I got updates, and never worried. I knew that Suki was in great hands. Thanks, Karyn for a great Doggie Vacay!

Karyn did a great job with my dog. He got along very well with Karyn's greyhounds and Karyn did a great job with him. She was meticulous about making sure that my dog would mix well with her's and wanted to be sure that there would be a good fit. It really paid off. Ike came home rested and happy. No problem recommending Karyn's services to anyone with a "senior" dog.

Never going back to a kennel. Calvin used to come back hoarse from barking and nervous. He is calm and gets along with Karyn’s dogs very well. He is happy to stay with Karyn.
Thanks, Karyn and thank you for the pictures of Calvin while we were out.
Karyn is super! We definitely prefer leaving Calvin with her to staying at a kennel.
Another great stay with Karyn. Calvin is very comfortable at her home.
Karyn is great! Calvin came home calm and happy.
Karyn is an experienced and thoughtful dog owner who used her knowledge to care for our dog. She was careful to introduce our dog to hers on neutral turf and then to ease into having them inside together. She recognized that our dog was different from hers and treated him accordingly. We used Karyn for dog day care and then for a six night stay. We knew we had made a good choice when our dog was excited and happy to return to Karyn's. We highly recommend her.
