I absolutely love dogs!
I have clients with small dogs that frequently stay with me so only small dogs under 25 pounds please. I am home during the day so my guest receive constant attention.
I home cook for the kibble topper on my dog's food so if your pup has a special diet, no problem! I feel that creating a comfortable environment for dogs is key to keeping them relaxed mentally. I have clients that have been with me for years, so the pups always get along peacefully.
A typical at the Zen Doggie Retreat-
In the AM the furbabies relax or roam about after their potty break and breakfast. My guest can roam around freely and enjoy a walk on my deck in the AM. I leave the deck door open for a short time during the morning.
Treat time happens a few times during the day. I always have organic sweet potato chewies on hand. My guest with special diet restrictions will have treats available for their pups too. I have a new sofa that is a little too big for the living room, but the dogs come first, right? lol
I keep doggie steps near the sofa for any pups needing a little aid getting up or down.
The pups can relax anywhere they want during the day. I have a few doggie beds on the floor with freshly washed throws on top of them.
I have a secure fenced backyard and will sit outside with the dogs during their potty breaks. If it’s a nice morning and the babies want to roam around the yard, I take my coffee and sit in a comfortable chair and enjoy watching the furbabies walk around. I find this helps with the dogs that are a little more timid about being in a new yard.
If I am working on my laptop or watching a movie, the furbabies always never far away. They are either perched on top of the sofa or snuggled close next to me.
If I leave the house, my furry guest is not confined unless they are new and still adapting to the environment. I may keep them separated in the dining room with a baby gate, but that is only until I know the new sweetie is ok with other dogs when I leave the house. Otherwise, the pups are never separated or confined.
Nighttime consist of more relaxing while we watch a movie together. :) The pups sleep where they wish.
I have 10 years grooming experience so I offer discounted grooming services while the pups are on their vacation with me.
