About Erik

I work from a home office part-time and would be with your dog at least half the day. You can expect at least three walks a day & I have a treasure trove of dog toys on hand, and one large breed kennel/crate if needed.

My dog, Maribelle, a large 9 yo Rottweiler mix, and I were very close. She passed away in March 2013 due to an unrecoverable injury. With that in mind, there are no other dogs/animals here and I will offer your dog the same attention and care I would give my own.

I accept all breeds as long as they are house trained, although larger breeds may be problematic as my new apartment is quite a bit smaller.

:::New rules as per new landlord:::

-- No excessive barking (mainly separation anxiety when/if I must leave).
-- I may now only host one dog at a time (Sorry.)

Any pickups after 8pm on the final day I will have to charge a day rate of $20. Pickups after midnight I will have to charge for a full night. Unfortunately my work schedule does not allow for house calls/pickup/dropoff.

Major holidays (ie: Christmas, Thanksgiving, July 4thy, etc.) my rate is double.

I've been uploading photos of other dogs I've been hosting.

Erik is the best. He truly is. I think our dog may love him more than she loves us. We would not hesitate to use him again!
Erik has been a lifesaver twice on short notice. Not only have I been able to book last minute both times, I know that my dog is well cared for while he is there. He sends pics and updates. He understands dogisms and therefore is able to know when to calm and comfort the nerves of a new boarder! His place may be small but he more than makes up for it with regular walks and a lot of personal attention.

Erik was just fantastic! I look forward to having him keep our sweet girl again. She warmed right up to him and had a great time meeting new people and dogs with him. Thanks so much Erik!!
Jackson really enjoyed his stay with Erik. He came home very relaxed and happy. Erik did a great job communicating with me and sent updates and pictures. We definitely hope Jackson can stay with Erik again in the future.
Erik continues to be reliable and open with communication. Elizabeth loves him.
Erik watched my Sophie for a week and I felt very comfortable knowing she was well cared for. It seems like Erik treats his doggy guests like their own. Sophie was healthy and happy after her stay and Erik sent daily updates. I will definitely check with Erik first if I need doggy sitting services again.

Erik continues to provide amazing care to my little girl. I'm very appreciative of his consistency and his concern.
Erik all but bends over backwards to assure your dog's happiness. Elizabeth and I are very grateful.
We had Erik watch both of our 50lb dogs for 2 weeks straight while we were gone on our honeymoon. This was our first time using DogVacay and Erik helped relieve any fears we had about leaving our dogs for so long by keeping us updated every day with pictures of our dogs and messages to let us know how they were doing. Erik lives very close to a dog park as well so our dogs got to have a lot of play time with other dogs almost every day (weather permitting). We would definitely use Erik again!

Erik is a natural with dogs. Our German Shepherd, KD, is very nervous and can be a handful. Erik put her at ease and followed all our directions with regard to her care and handling. He even got some great pics of her while we were away. We have never been able to get any good pics of her (she fears the camera). He made our trip even more enjoyable because we knew she was in great hands.
Thank You Erik!

Erik watched Murray last minute for us and did a great job.
Erik is great to work with. He's very responsive and he spent so much time with Stella, she really didn't want to get up to leave.
Erik was very professional and accommodating to the fact that this was a last-minute booking. I couldn't be more pleased with the service! Erik was also very gracious with us, especially since Isa had a somewhat "difficult" time with her first experience staying with someone new. Isa received plenty of walks and Erik did everything he could to help calm her down and feel comfortable in the strange new place.

Side note: his location is perfect for dogs! While Isa isn't much of a dog-dog, other dogs would thoroughly enjoy the large dog park right across the street.

Erik was extremely responsive and flexible. My dog kind of has issues adjusting to new places, and it was clear in only a couple days bear had adjusted to Erik's flat.
I highly recommend Erik! Erik was able to spend most of his days and evenings with the dogs and his place is very hospitable to dogs as he has toys and a big cage (I mean crate) as he recently had a huge dog that recently passed. What's particularly awesome about his place is that there is a huge fenced park right across the street that is almost always vacant. It's somewhat of an unofficial dog park and has been freshly mulched. Erik was great about giving updates and describing the good and bad behaviors of our dogs. He was very forgiving of a few of their accidents as well as their significant shedding. He's easy to get to as he's right of 90/94. In summary, no issues and highly recommended.

This was our first time using dogvacay and we couldn't be more satisfied with our experience. Erik watched both of our dogs for the weekend and sent us texts and pictures about how our dogs were adjusting and what they were up to during the day. Our dogs can be a handful at times and he did great with them. We would absolutely use him again!
