Home full time! Lot's of walks!

Pet care experience

Hey! Super dog lovers here! My name is David and I have moved from NYC back home to San Diego and would love to dog sit your dog! :) I am currently on extended vacation from work and therefore have the whole day to play, walk and care for your pet! I currently live with my parents in a beautiful 3000 square foot home with plenty of fenced backyard space and dozens of parks nearby. 4SRanch is one of the safest neighborhoods in San Diego, and is very pet friendly. Both my parents work in the day and I will be the primary care taker. I have been dog sitting on Rover for years (a lot of my client reviews are from my NYC apartment) and I before then, I had 2 beautiful dogs that I miss dearly and miss the presence of a pet! I am very strict with rules you may have per request such as not feeding the dog human food, keeping the dog leashed at all times when outside the home, exercise requirements, photo updates, or anything else (just ask). I also like to go on walks everyday to let out some energy and get some fresh air! If you want lots of photo updates, let us know! We're more than accommodating to worried parents :) . We understand that dogs are often more than just a pet and a member of the family. We look forward to hosting your furry friend! We can not host loud barking dogs due to neighbor complaint. Thank you. I have owned and cared for a beautiful Cocker Spaniel named Andy as well as a small Terrier mix named Mickey.

I leave no stars for David L. This was the first and last time I will be using Rover. I had gone through a thorough and extensive search for the right sitter for my 2 yr old, 5lb chihuahua, Bo. This was her first sitting with someone outside of family so I was specific on Bo’s needs. After a meet and greet with David L. it was mutual that he was the right sitter for her and the arrangement was confirmed. My family & I were off for a family vacation in Hawaii. The night before our flight David contacted me about some concerns with Bo barking furiously and uncontrollably at his dad. Something we had discussed at the meet and greet (that Bo will bark at strangers- something else we discussed was having other people around. David stated he was a lone caregiver and his parents wouldn’t be around, which is why I chose him). I asked David L. if he felt comfortable with the barking as it would subside if he catered to Bo’s needs, take her out of the situation by going for a walk. I asked him if he does not feel confident to take care of her I would need to know immediately to make other arrangements. I specifically told him that I did not want her handed over to another sitter. He assured me that he would be fine. As we landed in Hawaii, 7 to 8 emails came through from other Rover sitters who may possibly be available for Bo, including an email from David L. saying he was no longer able to care for her as the barking continued with his dad. After several hours of making sitting arrangements and hours into my family vacation, we were able to find a trusted sitter with the help of a family friend. Needless to say, Bo was happy with her new sitter, her 10 year old daughter , a cat and a stranger (sitter’s fiancé) who she barked at but warmed up to. My family was left distraught over this ordeal with David L. He should not be a pet sitter as he showed no experience with small pets and handling them. And no consideration of Bo’s needs and no consideration of our family vacation. Thanks for nothing David L.

Great experience! Charlie, our baby, is a very shy dog who once in a while experiences stomach aches. David was nice enough to contact us and ask what to do for him, even if having all the meds with him. That was really sweet of him :) And he sent us pictures of Charlie. Will certainly ask David again if we need to. Thanks David!

David and his roommates were great! I got lots of picture updates and Charlie had attention all weekend. He came home exhausted, which I know means he had a great time. Thank you so much for taking such good care of him!
