Dog Loving Brooklyn Couple
Pet care experience
Hello - John & Emily are a couple living in Prospect Heights Brooklyn. We've both previously watched pets on Rover with our roommates at the time. John & Emily both love dogs, and love to watch friends & neighbors pets. Whether it's for a day to go in the office, a break for an overnight trip, or a long vacation we love to watch dogs! John & Emily both grew up with dogs, both large and small! John's grew up with a lab, a pug, a boston terrier, and a few wonderful mutts. Emily also had mutts growing up, along with a lab, a beagle, a puggle, & a pitbull. Both are experienced with large & small dogs, as well as dogs with a variety of temperaments and needs. We live a roughly 7 minute walk from Prospect Park & are near lots of smaller neighborhood parks.
Reviews
Emily and her roommates were so sweet! They treated our two girls (Pit bull and papillon) with so much love! We are so glad to have found these ladies, and will be booking with them again soon! Cheers!

We live on the third floor of an apartment building, with only one other couple in the building. We have central AC so your pup will stay cool in the warm months. We have large windows (that will remain closed while your dog is here) that are perfect for any size dog to look out of. While we live on busier street, the outside noise is fairly minimal. When pups are visiting we typically walk them to the park or on less busy streets. While your pup is here, we'll be happy to work with their schedule (lot's of walks, certain feeding times, afternoon playtime, etc.). The only other couple that lives in the building don't currently have any pets, so there won't be any tight hallway interactions with unknown dog or animals. In the case of emergency, we live right next to an animal hospital -- we would only take the dog with your consent/being necessary -- but there is hopefully comfort knowing that's two doors from our apartment.

Information Emily M. would like to know about your pet
We can be flexible in how we care for a dog depending on their needs. Please let us know if loud noises/storms are upsetting to your dog. We'll do our best to comfort/accommodate them in those circumstances. Let us know if your dog can go with us to sit outside at a bar or restaurant. We would keep them close to us & safe from other patrons, people walking by, etc. We wouldn't take your dog in this setting without prior consent. How well does your dog get along with other dogs? Will they play with other dogs, just sniff & walk by, or do they need to avoid? We'll take this into account when going on walks & to the park. Is your dog kid friendly? We don't have kids, but just want to know their excitement or limitations when children approach or are nearby.
A typical day
We would wake-up and take your dog for a great walk to start the day, along with breakfast. During the work week, we both try to go for afternoon walks -- your dog would give us a reason to extend that or take multiple. We both work from home & typically cook lunch at home, so we'll be around to keep your pup entertained all day. In the case of a puppy or a dog that needs a little extra attention, we're able to keep an eye on your dog at all times if needed. We have a few great spots that are sun drenched in the afternoon - a perfect spot for a dog to snap in! Depending on the day, we sometimes go out to eat and sit outside when possible. We would love to bring your dog with us if that's okay with you. Otherwise we cook dinner at home most nights. In the evenings, you can find us working out, cooking, Emily working on a puzzle, John playing music (he can play through head phones when a pup is over), watching a movie, etc.

Availability
We both have very flexible schedules. John works from home, so he will be home during the day & evenings. Emily is freelance & sets her own schedule so when a dog is visiting, she can accommodate most schedules. We enjoy walks and going to have an evening drink outside somewhere. With permission of the owner (to be discussed before or during drop off) we'd be happy to bring your pup with us on our outings. *We wouldn't do this without prior permission -- we know different dogs are comfortable with different things. When a dog visits, they will be left alone in the apartment for minimal amounts of time.
