WHO I AM:
Hi! My name is Lorna and I work as a Pet Coach and a Pet Tech PET First Aid & CPR Instructor. I specialize in SPECIAL NEEDS dogs including: Deaf, Mute, Blind, and other medical or Traumatic behavior handling and care with 24 HOUR supervision between me and my fiancé.
I am trained both by Pet Tech and the American Red Cross to perform Pet First Aid and CPR. I teach people wholistic care such as cooking, grooming, nutrition, training during the lifetime of their pets through puppyhood and ailments like cancer and aging. (pics also on IG at Caspernstitch) I am an experienced pet sitter/walker/handler with over 18 years experience including rescuing and rehabilitating abandoned, abused, or neglected dogs. I also have experience in special needs dogs who are deaf, blind, or suffering from cancer and arthritis. I offer lots of TLC, belly rubs, and soothing massages for your pup while he/she is here with us.
Please note: (We love all dogs but due to the nature of our resident furkids' personalities, at this time we can no longer accept puppies or very young dogs with whom are very playful and energetic. I apologize but this is to ensure the safety and stress free environment for all our furry visitors who come here to relax, feel secure, work on behavorial and anxiety training and are able to remain at ease. We also cannot accept barkers as per our building policy and dogs not trained on leash, who pull or lunge as I have a hand injury still recovering from) We live in a sunny space in the heart of Chelsea just 3 blocks from the Madison Square Park's Dog Run with 2 foster fails Casper and Stitch. Working from home and luckily that allows me to be with the little family and furry friends around the clock. Your furkid will get plenty of play time, multiple walks, hang out with our pack freely in our apt (I DO NOT CRATE in any CAGES, but I do have pressure gates to separate rooms. Still, 99% of the time there will be no need for it unless it is at your request) and enjoy lots of sunshine overlooking the city with our floor to ceiling windows. Our building amenities include elevator, 24 hour concierge for security/safety, 1 block proximity to Chelsea Veterinarian Hospital, the dog park, Madison Square Park, Highline Park as well as Hudson River Park.
Contact me for partial or full day stays! (Rates are also negotiable for terminal and hospice care) Medication, eye .drops, and ointment applications included in price
***We have a real love for dogs and when we are not booked, we lobby for animal rights & foster to save lives as one of the Mayor's Alliance New Hope Partners (Pekingese Rescue Network Inc) as well as NYC ACC Urgent Kill List for Dogs***
I am available 24/7 to update you about your Furkid! Please understand that the holidays are a busy time and the rates are the best to accommodate limited space so your furkiddo gets the quality one on one TLC time.
THE PACK LIFE:
Always! We've had many pets including dogs in our family since I was about 8 years old. To date, we've had 12 dogs in the family half of which are rescues, 2 fosters and counting all consisting of Pomeranians, Pekingeses, and a Chihuahua. Growing up with animals, I naturally became entrenched in their welfare and have spend over a decade involved in rescuing, fostering, and networking to save and adopt many abandoned, abused, and neglected, dogs of all ages and breeds.
2 little pekes, our fur kiddos
ABOUT MY YARD/NEIGHBORHOOD:
No backyard but we are only 3 blocks away from the madison square park/dog park or if preferred, a nice long stroll near the highline or hudson river park
Yes. Administering pills, eye drops, ointment, is not a problem. If you have any pointers to what method you found was easier, I am open to your suggestions. Working with a variety of personalities I have been able to manage creative and non-intimidating ways to help your furkid get his meds in.
