About: My name is Laura and I am come from a long background in animal care in zoos and aquariums and have animal training experience using positive reinforcement (operant conditioning). I would be happy to help train your pet/animal or take them on long walks. I love being outside and have had dogs my whole life. I currently have two dogs of my own, a pit/lab mix and an Australian cattle dog. I currently work Monday-Friday, but am available on weekends anytime (Saturday and Sunday) and some evenings (6-8pm) on weekdays. I would be happy to come by your place several times throughout the day/evening to care for your pet. Safety is my number one priority. When I take animals for walks we are safe around other animals and people. I have two friendly dogs that love to play that and would be happy to socialize your dog with mine as long as they get along with other animals.

“Erin was an awesome sitter. She watched our golden retriever for a couple days and had a fantastic setup; Giant fenced in backyard with a pool and other dogs that got along really well. She updated us with pictures and was very easy to communicate with. Dog must have had a blast because she was exhausted when we picked her up. Will definitely return if in the OBX area!”

“We were very pleased with Rose's care of Louis and Sassy. We have never left our dogs with anyone other than family so this was a first. Rose has lots of room for dogs to run around which was great since Louis especially is young and needs a lot of exercise. Rose showed us around and explained everything at her disposal for boarding. They were happy when we dropped them off and that made us feel at ease. We were able to enjoy the Labor Day weekend knowing our pups were in good hands! We will be sure to use Rose next time we head to Outer Banks and need to board our dogs.”

“Absolutely recommend Shari. Was not sure about having someone I hadn't met previously watch my dog while I was out of town on a business trip. That quickly changed as soon as I met her I felt like I was leaving my Toby with family. She took great care of him and is now my ongoing pet sitter while I'm away. “First time Rover user and am pleased to report that everything went great and Mary truly cares for your dog while in her care! During the booking process Mary was very attentive and quick to respond, and she assured me that my pup will be in good hands. I only needed my dog to be in Mary's care for a few days before our dog-friendly rental was available, so knowing that she was 7 minutes away was helpful, she even said I could stop by and take her for the day if I wanted to! Very cool! Day 1 my pup was not very happy to be there and was whining at the door... Mary texted me asking if there was anything she could do to make her feel comfortable, after a couple more hours my dog was snuggling with her and was super content. Mary really did care about my dog and her feelings which was very appreciated. Last but not least, Mary gave me suggestions of places to eat and cool things to do in the area! I went to a couple of her suggestions and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend and I will definitely rebook with Mary if I am in the area again.”
