If you're like us, your dog IS family and you want only the best. Unfortunately, even the shiniest "bells and whistles" facility can leave you frustrated or worse. It all comes down to the people involved. In the end you can't pay someone to care.
That being said, I've never felt more at ease leaving my Yellow Lab with anyone as I did with Tatiana. She's smart, detail orientated, and has a huge heart for animals. The Meet and Greet, scheduling, communication and ultimately the stay at her home went perfectly! She went the extra mile to make sure our dog had what he needed. What a great first time! We were so tired of the kennel scene. We saw info about this site on the news and looked for someone close, and met Sarah. We are so pleased, we thought their location was ideal (spacious country setting, beautifully landscaped) and Elsa clearly enjoyed the doggie companionship! She didn't even look back at drop off and, while happy to see us at pick up, was still happily circling around the house. Our kids got a kick out of her scrapbook! This was the most wonderful, positive experience ever!!!! We LOVED Debra and Bruce. They not only babysat....our dogs (and they kept 2 rowdy ones) but they made the time they spent with them truly a vacation for our dogs. We were in Punta Cano, but we could talk to them anytime we got homesick for them.This made our own trip so much more enjoyable just knowing our babies were so taken care of. We needed to find a new host at the last minute, because our dog had unexpectedly been given a cone and medication the day before our trip. Renee was very accommodating and easy to deal with. She lavished attention on our dog through the entire vacation, and kept in touch with us. Our older dog was given excellent care by Amy. She had no difficulty administering oral medications to my dog who can be finicky. Bill was great with my dog, a female Golden Retriever/Sheltie mix. I am always nervous about her getting out and running away but Bill actively monitors the dogs while they are outside. My dog is a bit skittish around other dogs if they are overly rambunctious or if they play aggressively, but Bill's Schnauzers were really nice. I just picked up my Australian Shepherd from a 10 day stay with Claire - and I can't say enough good things. She is responsive, flexible, and responds immediately to phonecalls / text-messages. Also, it's clear that she is a dog lover! You can see it in the smile our dog had when we went to pick him up. I had the best doggie vacation in the world, it was like going to camp with other doggie campers. I loved swimming at the lake and doing all my tricks. I made new friends and loved all of them, I want to go back when my mom leaves town again. It is fun to be with some young pooches after living with two old parents. Uy was great. There were some huge storms in the DC area during our dog's stay that knocked down trees and knocked out power. He regularly kept me informed and worked with my schedule as our flight had to be cancelled. ...the dogs, who usually hate boarding of any kind (and make us feel horribly guilty about leaving them) came back exhausted from their play and walks, and looked at us as though we'd taken them away from a romping good time. Veronica is extremely professional and responsive, and clearly loves dogs. We give Veronica an A+.
