About Me
My roommate, Maggie, and I live in a sunny and clean 1200 square foot apartment in a dog-friendly, doorman building in the West Village. We're both 30, responsible, non-smokers and former dog-owners/current dog lovers. I'm a grad student and Maggie works 9-5 so our somewhat opposite schedules are a plus. We'd love to take care of your dog and treat him like a member of the family!
I had to put my beautiful 8-year old Rottie to sleep last fall, and although I'm not ready for a new puppy, we both really miss having a dog at home. We take care of a friend's pitt-mix once in a while and really miss him when he goes home!
We're happy to give your dog as much exercise as he's used to, rain or shine or snow, on walks, runs and playing ball. We're happy to let him sleep in bed or snuggle on the couch, but are also used to good training and can make sure he doesn't develop any bad habits while you're away!
I grew up with rescue German Shepherds and my family now has a Lab. Maggie's family has Labs and Cairn and Norwich Terriers.
My rottie, and one of my family dogs were both three-legged for their last year of life, so I'm very comfortable dealing with three-legged dogs and a variety of other medical issues - walking with a sling, pills, bandaging etc.
We have oversized shabby chic furniture that's comfortable for even the biggest dogs - my cousin's 130 pound Shepherd has no complaints!
Our building has a lot of dogs so we need boarders to be dog-friendly, and also comfortable with elevators since we're on the 6th floor.
