About Me
Loren and I are professional dog walkers, offering pet sitting and walking services through our business Ruffs and Relaxation Dog Walking and Pet Care.
We are PetTech (CPR/First Aid) certified with experience and knowledge on many differerent breeds and behaviors. We have both grown up with multiple dogs in our household, all types of breeds, and we have raised two puppies of our own, Olivia and Raina.
Personal attention for your furry friend is what you will receive! Our townhouse is in the extremely dog friendly neighborhood of Parkfairfax, located in close proximity to Shirlington. We have a two bedroom, split level home with 930 sq. ft. of space. Although we don't have a yard, there are plenty of green areas for frolicking and trails for your dog to enjoy right outside our doorstep on 132 wooded acres. They may also meet furry friends along the way.
We are currently available to board your dog for short or extended periods. During the week, we walk dogs for roughly four hours, so your pup would still have a lot of attention and supervision. While Loren and I are home we would treat your pup as if they were our own. We offer a loving and active environment, so pups can enjoy their stay and be anxiety free. If your dog stays with us during the weekend, we love being active and taking our dogs out hiking or around the town. But, we also enjoy quiet time with a movie.
While we would love to board all dogs, there are some restrictions:
Please no chronic barkers, aggressive behavior or extremely large dogs. We will accept a dog up to 60 lbs or maybe larger depending on the breed.
We require that your dog is crate-trained in the case we are away from the house. We also require proof of up-to-date vaccinations and that your dog is currently on a flea and tick treatment.
Please contact us to inquire about availability, as our calender is not always correct due to our dog walking and pet sitting schedule.

So much to say, this was 100% a great experience. I was nervous as this was my first time using DogVacay, but I did a meet and greet with Samantha and it she helped me understand more about what to expect as well as calmed all of my fears about leaving my pup. The meet and greet allowed me the opportunity to meet Samantha and her pups as well as see the home in which she would be taking care of Saba. Samantha was VERY knowledgeable and understood the lab breed, nutrition, exercise, dog age and emotion and was truly everything I was looking for in a sitter. During the time I was away Samantha was responsive to my texts, calls or emails and consistently provided me updates and notes to let me know Saba was doing great. She really allowed me the peace of mind I needed to enjoy my vacation. As this was the fist time we had used Dogvacy I was so happy to see Saba was well fed, well exercised, and all around calm when we picked her up. This was the experience I was looking for as Saba was always semi-traumatized when staying at loud, crowded boarding facilities, even no-cage facilities. There is not a doubt in my mind that I will be using Samantha again. I have already recommended her to my colleagues at work and we are making plans for the Christmas holidays. Affordable, Professional, Caring and a great experience for both dog and human.

My dog had a great stay with Samantha. She was taken on 2 walks a day and enjoyed playtime with Samantha's dogs. She also sent me photos and emails with information on how my dog was doing during her stay. I would definitely use her again.

This was Nala's first time in a "home" other than her own...overnight. Nala is very active around other dogs. Sam has two puppy's herself and all of our dogs got along so great! Sam sent me pictures & text messages over the weekend to keep me posted, this was great!! Sam ran Nala every day for 30 minutes, that was amazing. I can't say enough great things about Sam's personalized care with Nala and I will recommend her to everyone I know that needs care for their dogs. Nala found a second home.

Samantha was very reponsive when I reached out to her for dog sitting services. Our usual dog sitter, cancelled at the last minute and we had plans out of town that we would have had to cancel otherwise. Samantha took very good care of my dog and even took him to her local community pool for a "doggie dip" activity. I would recommend Samantha.

Baxter had a great time at Samantha's house! He loved playing with her dogs and the other guest dogs. Sam took the dogs on lots of walks, too. After the dog vacay, Samantha sent me a detailed email of Baxter's stay and how it went. I would definitely arrange for Baxter to stay with Samantha again!

Lucky's first "daycare" experience (he's 6 months old) was with Samantha. He stayed with her all day Saturday and then we took him back again on Sunday. We were worried about him being away from home for the first time but he was so excited to see Samantha on the second day and he very much enjoyed playing with her and the other dogs.
