About Me
We are all about the dogs! We're in a quiet neighborhood of small acreage properties and dirt roads, yet close and convenient to DIA, Denver, Aurora, Thornton, Northglenn, Brighton, Green Valley Ranch, Reunion, I-76, Pena, Tower, I-70, E-470. Our home is on 2 1/2 fenced acres, with a large lawn area, lots of trees and interesting things to sniff and places to explore, a kiddie pool that is always filled for the dogs. We are a pesticide and herbicide-free home, and only use fertilizers on the fruit trees, maybe once every three years or so, but they are outside of the lawn area. The lawn is all natural, so lots of little soft, flowery weeds and clover sprinkled throughout, no chemicals. If it doesn't have stickers or burrs, we are content to let it be. The dogs can really stretch their legs, run free in an enclosed area larger than many dog parks. The house is a split level, mostly carpeted with multiple dog beds and even a king size bed with a memory foam topper just for the dogs. There's no place off limits, they are free to sleep on the couch or even the bed with us, unless the family would like them kept off of furniture. We have a dog door so they may come and go when we are home, but everyone is indoors when we are away, either crated or loose, whichever the family prefers. We play with tennis balls as a group (if it's not too hot or too cold) nearly every day, and go for group walks around the property. All five resident dogs are rescues or strays that we have adopted and everyone is spayed or neutered, chipped, and current on vaccines. We do discounts and can send you a custom quote for multiple dogs and/or extra long stays.
We realize it is an enormous leap of faith to leave the care of your family member in a stranger's hands, and we take that responsibility very seriously. We try to keep you as informed as possible during your dog's stay with emails, phone calls and photos, unless you prefer not to be contacted. We also encourage the family to contact us when they are gone if they have any concerns or questions. We also volunteer with a couple of rescues and have fostered over 30 dogs for them, and have rehomed a couple of strays on our own. We do work out of the home four days per week, but have flexible schedules and are willing to work with you to make sure your dogs are not alone for longer than you are comfortable with. We've had dogs here from 13 lbs to 120 lbs. Our fence is 4 feet high, so a jumper or escape artist probably would not do well here. The page wire attached to the fence has rectangles of about 5 x 6, so a really tiny, determined dog may not be safe here either. We prefer altered animals not just because they generally have a better temperament, but with an estimated 4-5 million animals destroyed in shelters in the past year just in this country, we are firm believers in spaying and neutering whenever possible rather than contributing to the vicious cycle of pet overpopulation. (Sorry . . . got a little preachy there.) But we are willing to meet and speak to you about your intact dog and see if everyone will get along. Your family member will get lots of attention, companionship, exercise, and love at our house!

There are not words to describe how much we appreciate everything that Debbie and John did for our boys!!! We have a 7 yr old boxer and a 7 mo old lab puppy. We have boarded our Boxer many times before and becasue he is so nervous he always has trouble and comes home skinny and upset. This time he is so happy and healthy. Both Duke and Diesel had such a wonderful time! We have so many awesome photos from their vacation too! We would highly recommend Debbie D to everyone we meet!!

Debbie was awesome watching my pups the past few days! I got lots of updates on how they were doing and tons of pictures once I returned. She was very flexible and helpful in scheduling the drop off and pick up. I'll definitely use Debbie again anytime I go out of town!

Dogs had a great time! Debbie was very responsive and eased our worries while away. We received daily contacts with photos and follow up on how the dogs were doing. Her place is awesome, any dog would love it. Really, it's more like going to camp.

Another great stay for my boy, Peyton! Peyton has stayed with Debbie & John 3 times within the past month and loves it very much. Peyton normally whines when I drop him off anywhere and watches as I leave but not over here! He quickly takes off running into the large yard looking for an adventure and other friends to play with. He's in heaven! There's no better feeling than to know that while you're gone your pet is in such good hands....all while having a blast. I know Peyton gets ample play time because every time I bring him home he just goes right to sleep. I can't say enough good things about Debbie & John as hosts!

We arrived at her property around 11am on Friday where she met us at the gate. She graciously invited us in and showed us around. Andy (the dog) made friends with her other dogs immediately. Her property was clean, well-kept and big enough to keep the dogs occupied. After about 10 minutes we were on our way out-of-town for the weekend, feeling comfortable leaving our dear pup in her care. She emailed me every night with updates (how the day went, what Andy was up to, how he was getting along with the others, what they (as in the people) did with Andy, etc.), as well as wonderful pictures of him romping around in the yard! It was a welcomed gesture while we were away missing our four-legged family member. We got there at 3pm on Sunday and she was waiting at the gate with Andy. Since we have been home, he has been sleeping and relaxing (I think he got a good workout playing all weekend), which is always a good sign. Before choosing Debbie, her and I exchanged multiple messages to ensure we were a good fit for each other. She responded quickly every time, was very descriptive in her answers and proved she is serious about what she does. The next time we go away and have to leave Andy behind, we will be taking him here! Highly recommended, and worth every penny! Oh, and another added bonus - a CD of pictures. Such a nice addition.

This was my first experience using DogVacay and I feel that I could not have found a better host! Debbie is awesome and her place is GREAT for dogs that like to play. Debbie's place is close to the airport which makes it choice if you're flying out of DIA and need someone to watch your dog. If you're not flying out for your trip.....without a doubt still make the drive to Debbie's as your dog will have a great time and you'll be stress-free while you're gone. Debbie takes pictures of the dogs while playing (which she shares with you) and is awesome about sending you a quick update. Her home is large with a very large fenced yard for the dogs to play. She had a few other dogs there when I brought my dog, Peyton, over which was awesome because Peyton likes to play! Let's put it this way: Normally when I board Peyton he goes CRAZY when I come pick him up which I like to think is a result of him missing me and probably being ready to come home. Well, when I picked Peyton up from Debbie's after being gone for 4 days, Peyton didn't want to leave! He had a great time!

We left two dogs with them...a golden retriever and a shih tzu. They gave them such great attention. The boys definitely had a great time during their stay! She was also super good about keeping me updated via email while we were gone. I will definitely use them again.

We had a wonderful experience with Debbie. She was very accommodating and made us feel very comfortable leaving our one year old puppy for the first time. We really appreciated her frequent updates on Digby's status, including pictures. We could tell how happy he was playing with Debbie's other really friendly dogs. Debbie is fantastic! We had exceptionally complicated plans and this was the first time leaving our 1 year old labradoodle anywhere. It could not have gone better! Debbie took extremely good care of our boy, was incredibly responsive and reassuring, and sent us home with a CD full of pictures. We joked that our dog went to summer camp, not boarding. I would not hesitate to leave Baylen with Debbie again. As a pet professional, I am so happy to find people as skilled and caring as Debbie to look after our fur-baby.
