  Jay and Haruyo did a great job of taking care of our babies while we were gone for a few days. We have two Jack Russells who are very energetic and want constant attention. It was great for them to have a yard to keep them entertained and a home to make them feel welcomed instead of a kennel. Jay took them for walks everyday and sent us emails and pictures to keep us informed on how they were doing. He even gave us a tip about a special harness for one of our dogs who tends to pull hard on walks. Jay and Haruyo are very patient with the dogs they invite into their home and show them much love and care. We would recommend them to anyone who does'nt want to worry about their babies while they are away.

  This is our third time leaving our rambunctious Cockapoo over at Jay and Haruyo's while we went out of town for the weekend. Knowing that he'll have an amazing time hanging out with fellow doggy-guests and be totally doted on by Jay and Haruyo, we had a blast and enjoyed ourselves without an ounce of worry. Thank you!

  Jay's home is the best possible option for overnight boarding for our dogs. We've tried other in home boardings and daycare centers, but nothing provides the personal love and environment like Jay's home. He has a great backyard for the dogs to play in, is really knowledgeable about dog behavior, and you can tell he genuinely loves dogs. His wife is very sweet too. We love that he walks the dogs and sends us email/picture updates. After a meet n greet we boarded them for 2 nights and they seemed to really enjoy it. We are boarding them for a week in June when we go on vacation. It's so nice not to have to worry about them while we are away.

  Cannot even to tell you how happy we are to have found Jay and Haruyo to take care of Max !! From the first moment we met him, their LOVE of dogs was very evident. Absolutely love how Jay responds to our emails right away and his daily updates and photos are the best. We travel alot and plan on using Jay in the future knowing that Max will be getting all the TLC and daily walks that he is used to receiving at home....

  This is the third or forth time we have brought our dog Maddie to Jay. I am so happy with Jay. Maddie loves it there. I almost hate to take her away from Jay's when we return home. Maddie seems sad to leave him. She is bored for a couple days after we are home, she has so much fun with Jay and his wife. I have moved to Northern California and we make a special trip back down to take Maddie to Jay then start our vacation from the airport in Orange County.

  This was the first time I have had to leave my dog with anyone other than family. Jay's profile, "DOGS WANTED to Fill Home & Hearts", and photos instantly caught my attention. Like many other pet owners my dog is not just a pet, she is family. Somehow, after finding Jay on Dogvacay.com I felt I had to look no further for the right place and person to care for my dog. We had a meet and greet which confirmed this was the right place for me to leave my dog. Jay emailed me daily, not just a sentence or two, but a complete update along with photos. Although, my dog was very excited to see me when I went to pick her up, I think she was a little disappointed to be leaving Jay and his wife. I know by her behavior that she was very well taken care of, and although I generally leave her with family at no cost...I will most likely have her stay with Jay, the next time I go out of town. I believe that dogs can forget other dogs, but they never forget people. She already misses Jay. Thank You so Much! Nancy & Lyla

  Our dog Scout stayed with Jay for 7 days. Jay sent us great updates and photos of Scout. He also took him on walks independently and made sure he got lots of exercise! We couldn't be happier with the care Jay provides for Scout while we are away and wouldn't want to board Scout anywhere else.

  Another great stay with Jay! My two pups were actually excited to get to Jay's house and play with the other dogs. I take this to mean that they have a ball when we board them there. Jay keeps up entertained with regular updates and pics of the dogs while we're away, and it's become a highlight of my days on vacation to receive his daily email update. Highly recommend him :-)

  This was Mandy's 3rd stay with Jay & we just can't begin to say enough wonderful things about him & his wife. We really look forward to our daily updates every morning with photos & descriptions about what she's been doing while we were gone. We don't ever worry about her while we are gone since we found Jay, because we know she is not only in good hands, but she is having a great time. One thing for sure, It will take her a week to catch up on her sleep, because she was so busy playing for 3 days. She better rest up, because she will be staying again this month & next month. Thank you again Jay!!

  Jay did a wonderful job watching our two pups! He sent us daily updates on them, complete with adorable photos attached of them playing or relaxing. It was very reassuring to know what they were up to while we were away on vacation and that they were in good hands. I highly recommend Jay and will be using his services again soon.

  We can't say enough good things about Jay and our experience leaving our Boston Terrier, Lola, with him. Lola is deaf and responds to sign language and Jay was more than happy to learn several signs in order to make Lola comfortable. Speaking of comfortable, they let Lola sleep in their bed! Awesome experience, we will definitely be back again and again.

  This was our first experience w/ Dogyvacay and first time I've left my babies with strangers....I was nervous, sad and worried! All I have to say is...thank you Jay and Haruyo! My babies were loved and well taken care of while I was away. I appreciate the beautiful pictures and detailed emails, letting me know what and how there were doing. I now have a second home for them and I'm sure they'll be excited to see y'all again ;-) I should've known better after meeting you Jay...there is a peace about you and it's obvious you love our babies as much as we do!   Jay went above and beyond boarding our dogs. He gave us great daily updates and photos, and was not intimidated by our 100 lb. dog in the least. Our dogs got walks, and seemed to have a ball with all the other dogs. So happy Blu and Shasta have found a home away from home!

  Bosco just stayed with Jay for the first time while we were away for 4 nights. He came home exhausted! Jays updates and photos not only made us feel great about our decision to have Bosco stay with Jay, but we just knew he was having a blast. Jay really gets to know the dogs he boards. With Bosco being a (big) puppy, Jay made sure that prior to his stay, he met a couple of the smaller dogs (we live close enough that we could drop by). And he also looked at his calendar to make sure all of the dogs were compatible. He lit up when he know another GSP would be staying there as well as another puppy. Turns out, Bosco now has 2 new best friends! We can't thank you enough Jay!

  This was Daria's second stay with Jay, and we couldn't be happier. Our beloved little senior pom gets so pampered, loved and spoiled while she's there. We live in Monterey, but whenever our travels bring us down south, we bring Daria with us specifically so Jay can care for her. The quality of love and care that Jay provides is unsurpassed, and we are lucky to have found him :)

  Scout - our german shorthaired pointer- just completed his second stay with Jay. It was a great success- as was his first stay. Jay sent us daily updates with photos. The dogs staying there have a great time playing together and also get daily walks! We highly recommend Jay as a dogvacay host and look forward to scouts next stay with him- as does Scout.

  Dobie has been left with Jay and Haruyo while we have been on vacation. Dobie has maniacal tendencies. He rarely makes the right choice when presented with behavior options. Although he is a sweet and loving dog, he can test your patience. However, under the wonderful care of Jay and Haruyo, Dobie settles in and it is a toss up if it is a better experience for Dobie or for us. It is such a relief to know that your beloved pooch is well taken care of and having just as much fun as you are on your vacation.

  Jay was fantastic. Leaving my pup the first time was a little nerve-wracking, but Jay called about an hour after the drop off to let me know that everything was going well and Grace had settled in somewhat. The daily emails and pics were priceless! He provided lots of details about my pup's day/night and answered any questions I may have sent. By the end of the week Grace was part of the family and probably would have been just as happy to stay with Jay and his wife :). They go to the top of my list for dog care and boarding!!

  Archer just had his second visit with Jay and Haruyo this past Saturday. This time he stayed overnight with them. He must have had a great time, because when we came to pick him up, he kept leading us back to the house! Again, he came home completely exhuasted from his fun filled short vacation with Jay and Haruyo. Thank you Jay and Haruyo for being such a great host for our pup!

  Archer just had his first day of day care with Jay and Haruyo. This was our first time ever leaving Archer in someone else's care and we couldn't have been happier. We found Jay and Haruyo through a friend and we seriously felt like we hit the jackpot with them! It was completely obvious that Archer had a blast with them. He was completely exhausted and passed out for the night after we picked him up. He fell asleep as soon as he got in the car! Jay and Haruyo truly treat your dogs as if they were their own. We will definitely be using them again and again. In fact, we are booking an overnight stay with them this Saturday!

  We just picked up our dog, Baylee, after her first stay with Jay and his wife. We are new to the area and are thrilled to have found such an awesome family for Baylee to stay with when we travel.   I hate to say this from my selfish perspective (because I want to keep them all to myself), but Jay and Haruyo are FABULOUS! Carmel loved every moment spent with them. Jay is just terrific about sending messages and a photo every day which made us less homesick. Seriously, you couldn't find two people more committed to providing the absolute best care for your dog. I was a little concerned that Carmel wouldn't want to come home with us! Thanks so much for helping to make our time away from home so easy.

  Our dog Scout stayed with Jay for about 10 days and we were worried he would never want to come home to us! Jay is a true dog lover- he even read up on German Shorthaired Pointers after we made our reservation. His home and sprawling backyard are a perfect haven for dogs to run and play. He walked Scout each day and sent us updates complete with photos and anecdotes that perfectly describe Scout's personality. He and his wife provide 24 hour supervision for the dogs. We could not be happier with Scout's care there and look forward to booking with Jay again.

  If I could give Jay Six Stars, I would! As usual, Jay took very good care of our two mini-dachshunds. We are repeat boarders, and already are planning our next stay. We always appreciate Jay's daily emails, but especially the photos he includes! Love 'em!

  Cody loves it there! It's so much better than in a closed room like at PetSmart. Cody also gets to meet more "friends" and play with other dogs. Cody came home completely exhausted and slept through the evening and night too. Drop off and pick up is always easy!

  If you want your dogs to have as much fun as you do when you are out on a vacation, don't look any further! Jay and his lovely wife took such good care of our two italian greyhounds that they were actually sad to leave! We received daily updates with extremely detailed activity log and fabulous shots of the dogs! We absolutely loved our DogVacay experience with Jay. We would definitely highly recommend him to any pet owners!

  This is my second time leaving my dog over at Jay and Haruyo's. Again, a very easy and delightful experience for both my dog and I. Beaker enjoyed their attentive and loving company as well as that of other dogs who were also staying there. He even became good buddies with one of the dogs! In addition to taking the time to email me updates on how my dog was doing during his stay, Jay also took some wonderful photos of my dog and printed them out for me when I picked him up. And Haruyo was so kind to give him a bath because it was a rainy weekend and he got a little dirty. Jay and Haruyo have been such a blessing to me. In the past, I would always have a nagging reluctance to go on vacations because I don't quite like leaving my dog at a boarding facility. Now that I have Jay and Haruyo, I can't wait to plan my next trip!

  It's a shame I can only give 5 stars! This was the most positive experience I have ever had with a dog boarder. Jay and Haruyo are lovely, considerate people who genuinely enjoy caring for dogs. Our dog, who is mostly blind, was very well adjusted, even with another dog there. She walked out prancing and I haven't seen her do that in quite awhile. This is an awesome place to leave your dog!

  Jay was a breeze to work with from the start to the end. He was very responsive to my initial inquiries, accommodating with my last-minute request for a meet-and-greet, and prompt to accept my reservation. I used to board my dog at a facility whenever I go out of town. Even though it was a well-run facility that I've used a few times, I always worried about every single thing that could possibly go wrong. Not so with Jay. When I left my 7 y.o. Cockapoo at Jay and Haruyo's over the weekend, the experience was absolutely pleasurable and stress-free for both my dog and I. You know your dog is in great hands when he starts getting wildly and uncontrollably excited in the car as you get closer to Jay & Haruyo's house. And you know your dog had a phenomenal time when you go pick him up at their place and he is so happy that you're finally back because now you too can join the party. I have made another reservation with Jay this weekend. I bet my bottom dollar that my dog's going to go nuts five minutes into the car ride to Jay and Haruyo's.

  Jay and his lovely wife provided THE PERFECT home-away-from home for our 1 yr. old Whippet!! Their house is warm and open and uber dog friendly with a big, fabulous enclosed backyard. They provided daily updates via email of our dog's day with photos and numerous antidotes which were an absolute joy to receive!! As was clear on our meet & greet, the 6 days our dog stayed and the reviews, one could not find a better place to send their dog while away!! We could go on & on about how lucky we feel that our dog Whistle stayed here, but suffice it to say, finding Jay (and DogVacay) is a dream come true!!

  The yard and home were wonderful with a nice setup for access from home to yard. Jay made sure our meet-n-greet and overnight stay had the right pairing of other dog guest. This was very much appreciated as our youngest is sometimes shy around others until he gets to know them. Jay and his wife understand the process of what it takes to get dog's to play nicely with each other. Jay sent a progress report on their first morning. He included the BEST picture of my two Vizsla's and a Weinheimer. The three looked like deers in a meadow, heads down and grazing. An awsome, very appreciated, candid shot.   My husband and I have brought our black lab, Max, over to Jay and, his wife, Haruyo's home three times now for extended overnight stays and all we can say is how happy we are to have found such great people to watch our dog! Each time we have had Max over for his stays, Jay sends us daily emails to give us a quick update of how Max is doing and what new adventures he may have had or new friends he has made. We especially love the daily photo Jay attaches to each of these emails. I can think of more great things to mention about our dogsitting experiences with Jay but, instead of making this review into a tome, we mostly want to say that it is wonderful (and such a relief!) to know our dog is in very loving, kind, and good hands when we need to leave him with Jay and Haruyo.

  Leaving our dog with Jay was as if we were leaving her with family. He sent us updates with pictures which provided us great comfort to know how she was doing.   This was the first extended overnight stay for my Maggie. Jay and Haruyo knew just how to make Maggie feel comfortable and also relieved my anxiety. Every morning I had an update from Jay with a picture of Maggie and her new friends. Everything far exceeded my expectations. I have already recommended Jay and Haruyo to two friends and I am sure there will be more. I feel so fortunate to have found such a loving and caring home away from home for my Maggie.

  Jay and Haruyo provided a truly exceptional environment and "vacation" for our pup, Oliver. He is only 6 months old, so we were a bit concerned about the attention he requires, since he insists on sampling everything he can reach to see if it's edible. We shouldn't have worried - Oliver was watched over, pampered and loved like he was one of Jay and Haruyo's family, and was relaxed and happy when we picked him up. As our first venture into the world of "pet sitting", we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thanks!

  Jay and his wife Haruyo are fabulous! I could not have asked for a more perfect dog sitters. They took care of our (Maddie) for 10 days and Maddie came to think of it has her new home. They treated Maddie as their own. They walked her 2 and 3 times a day, plus they have a great yard where the dogs can go in and out of their house as they please. Jay would email everyday about Maddies activities the day before with photos; I would wake up every day waiting to hear from Jay. Jay and Haruyo are exactly what you would want when you have to leave your dog behind. My husband and I had never left on a trip without our dog for 4 years because we never felt comfortable with anyone we meet for dog sitting, until we met Jay and Haruyo. As soon as we did a met and greet with them, we knew this was the place for Maddie to stay! When we came to pick up Maddie, we could tell she was totally comfortable and I could tell she was apprehensive about leaving Jay and Haruyo. I know she will have to adjust to being back with us the boring people. I would love to keep Jay to myself and not share him! I can’t recommend them enough!! Diana and Doug, Aliso Viejo, CA

  Jay and Haruyo are amazing care providers. They welcomed our senior pomeranian, Daria, into their home despite the fact that she suffers from separation anxiety. Daria felt so safe, comfortable, secure and loved that she didn't have any stress or separation anxiety at all. Daria loved her vacation. She got constant attention, walks, treats, naps, wardrobe changes (because our super spoiled princess loves to wear clothes), belly scratches — you name it, Daria got it. Daria even got a nice bath, blow dry and brushing at the end of her stay. My husband and I loved receiving daily updates (in the morning) recapping the previous day's stay. We even got to take home a lovely photo that Jay took of Daria. Our entire experience with Jay and Haruyo was wonderful... both for us and Daria : )

  Lovely back yard. Dogs could run in and out, at will. Jay took my two Jack Russells for walks. Jay sent pics and a daily update. There are no other dogs in Jay's home, so if your dog is not socialized, he/she will be the only dog in the home.

  This was my first time using dogvacay.com. I have previously boarded my dog at PetSmart and the local animal boarding places. Jay helped me through the whole process and was very accommodating to my schedule. He was very nice and even sent out emails (along with a picture) to let me know how my dog was doing. My dog had a great time there, and I'm sure he would love going back.

  We have used PetSmart and our vet to board our dogs previously and never been quite satisfied. What an outstanding experience for us AND our two mini-dachsunds this was! The daily emails and photos of the dogs were great, and because they were staying at a home with several other dogs, it gave them a chance to become better socialized. We have already reserved this outstanding host for a future date.

The daily email updates made our trip so much more enjoyable, because we could see that our dog was having just as much fun on his vacation as we were on ours! I couldn't recommend them more highly.

  The right place for a fairly anxious dog. Jay took her for frequent walks and the daily email and pics were fabulous. I have found my preferred dog watcher when I am out on vacation.

  I can't even begin to say how much my fiancee and I LOVED Jay and his wife! They were so easy to deal with and truly took great care of our puppy! They were both so caring and gave us the piece of mind by sending daily emails/photos and videos to keep us in the loop of how our pup was doing. We're ever so grateful for the weekend they took care of our dog and will definitely be bringing him back to Jay's home again soon!!!

  Both of us (my wife and I) were worried about leaving our "special needs" pup with anyone. Zoe loves other dogs but has always been shy of people. We investigated some doggie care facilities but didn't have a really good feeling about them. When we found Jay, we were initially hesitant so we left Zoe for a test run for half-a-day. I was thoroughly impressed with the test so scheduled an overnight. My wife had a really good feeling when she met Jay and Haruyo on the drop-off morning; so we had a good day and night knowing that Zoe was in good hands. When we picked her up, things had gone as expected with her still not letting Jay pet her; but she seemed very happy and gave a lot of play signs. I'm very impressed with Jay's knowledge of dogs and how to handle them. Zoe can be intimidating to some but Jay handled everything in stride. It's also easy to see the love of dogs that they both have. I can't say enough how happy we are that we found Jay and Haruyo. Thanks so much.

  Jay has always been very responsive and helpful and from the moment I met him and his wife and knew that my Lexie would be in the best hands. The whole process was very smooth and I wouldn't hesitate to leave my dog with Jay again.

  We couldn't have asked for a better dog sitter for our "old" dog. We've tried many places but Jay's was the only place she was happy. She came home looking like she had also been on vacation. This is so unusual for our sensitive dog who often came home with her shredded bedding. We enjoyed reading Jay's Email and looked forward to receiving new update on our dog everyday. The happy dog, and the happy owners with this fee? We almost don't want to share him (and his kind wife) with others.

  This is the first time that my husband and I left our 2 dogs with Jay; and we felt very really good about it. He and his wife love dogs and understand dogs. It was a joy to know that our dogs were in a home, with "dog people," a large, interesting yard, and visiting grandchildren who would play with them. (Plus, great walking trails). We received daily updates and photos - (Jay is a wonderful writer and photographer, -he put a smile on our face each day, -toward the end of our trip, we couldn't wait to see his daily write up!   Our dogs, Carolina and Dakota just spent a week at Jay K’s home. We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! He and his wife provided a safe, secure, fun and active place for our dogs while we were away. He played and walked with them daily. He also sent us DAILY detailed emails or Twitter tweets of our dogs’ activities. In these emails and tweets were pictures with cute captions! We could see that our dogs loved being there! We had a fabulous vacation, but it was even better not stressing about our dogs! We plan on using his services from now on whenever we go on vacation. You should too!

  We were thrilled with Jay and the DogVacay team. Jay and his wife have a huge backyard and live close to a lake with a walking trail. Jay listened patiently as we detailed every little preference and quark Bogie (read: we, his parents) has. When we dropped him off for our weekend away, Jay said he would be sure to email us throughout the weekend so we knew how Bogie was doing. It was the exact communication we wanted while we were away! Not only did he include some adorable photos, but he also included many details of their day/night together, including eating habits, activities and potty breaks. Additionally, my husband started to follow Jay on Twitter, where he posted additional photos of our little guy. Jay took excellent care of our dog and we even referred him to another friend who used him recently as well. He's a terrific host and we're plan to use him again soon!

  I have boarded my two shorkies at Jay's and couldn't have been happier about their care. Jay and his wife are exceptional and go out of their way to make sure everyone has a great experience--especially the dogs! With twitter updates, pictures and even You Tube videos of the pooches, you get to actually see how they are doing while you're away and really be at peace knowing they are safe and having fun. There is no doubt that Jay and his wife love every dog they host and treat them as their own while they have them. This is such a great alternative to the cages at traditional boarding houses and I can't imagine boarding my dogs any other way. I hope Jay and his wife will always keep a light on (and a rug out) for my dogs the next time I go on vacation... Thanks Jay!! :)

  My host, Jay, was very friendly and was easy to schedule a meetup and the dog sitting. He and his wife took our dogs for many walks and the dogs had no complaints. I would recommend Jay for future dog sitting.
