  Our dog, Draper, took to Stella right away! Stella offered to pick up and drop off Draper, which was really nice, especially when coming home from a trip. Draper had a great time going on walks with Stella and took advantage of her fenced in backyard. We will certainly use her again!

  Stella did a terrific job taking care of Ava for a week. Of course, it helps that Ava is so sweet, but she's also a little nervous being away from me for long. Stella played with her, took her for walks, and sent me pictures of Ava having fun. I'd recommend Stella to anyone looking for a great dogsitter.

  As recent adopters of a rescue dog who spent half a year in a shelter, my girlfriend and I were a little nervous about leaving our Colbie for the first time. We were fortunate enough to find DogVacay.com so our pup didn't have to be locked in a kennel for most of every day we were gone. Stella was incredibly thorough from start to finish, making us feel more and more at ease as our trip approached. We initially contacted her because she didn't have any other pets, and had a large backyard that Colbie could play in. These were both HUGE pluses for us. We aren't certain whether Colbie plays nice with ALL dogs yet, and we wanted her to be as comfortable as possible while we were gone. Stella conducted three separate meet and greets with us and Colbie; the first at her residence so our dog could get used to the sights, smells, etc, and the second and third at our residence, so she could get used to Stella coming over. We had a very early flight to leave town, so we left Stella a key so that she could pick up Colbie at a more reasonable hour and take her home. Since she was already used to Stella, we knew this wouldn't be an issue. She was, however, nervous to leave with Stella, which we were afraid of. Instead of imposing her will and possibly intimidating Colbie, Stella spent time with her alone at our place to make her as calm as possible. Most petsitters probably would not show this much patience, but Stella has worked with enough dogs to know their boundaries and be respectful of them. We received a few quick reports from Stella throughout the week we were gone, usually with photos of Colbie playing outside or relaxing. This was comforting for us and put our minds at ease as to whether Colbie was 'hanging in there'. In actuality she was having a blast. Prior to our late evening return, Stella emailed me offering to drop Colbie off at our place before we arrived, so that A) we wouldn't have to drive out of our way from the airport to pick her up at a late hour, and B) so that Colbie could settle in at home and wait for us to arrive. At that point in our trip, it was well worth the extra fee for Stella to drop off Colbie so we could see her as soon as we arrived home. All the same, it was a thoughtful measure on Stella's part. We would definitely recommend Stella's services to anyone trying to avoid boarding their dog at a vet or similar facility. The rates were slightly higher than most boarding facilities, but for Colbie to have the individual attention, all of her own toys and comforts, and a huge backyard to play in, we didn't even think twice about the cost. Stella is a dog lover through and through, and she made it a great deal easier to leave our new pup for the first time.
